tea2085
Was thinking of ordering the new Aspire Mini Nautilus but am wondering if I would be better suited with the original Aspire Nautilus and install the new vertical coils in it. Considering the tank size, mainly. Would I have the latest in tech or is the mini somehow different in design than the original Nautilus? SteezeOG
I have both. They're both great but there are some key differences. The mini is quite a bit smaller tank 2ml compare to 5ml I believe and the new mini has a recessed middle part so you really can only fill it to about 1.5ml easily. The airflow adjustment is improved on the mini but only in looks and a little better function. It's still good on the original nautilus. The vertical coils do work and work well on the full size. If you need the capacity get the big one and the new coils. If you want something that is a more compact design the mini is pretty awesome. I think both are worth the money. I've got my mini on a vision spinner II battery right now and for such a small little device I turn it up to 3.8V and the stock 1.8 single vertical coils really give good vapor and flavor for a clearomizer. I'm happy with it. I've got another one from the store on this site hopefully coming soon that I'll use on my vamo v3. I use the big nautilus on my vamo v5 at 11W. Could only use it up to about 9W with the old dual coils.

Earthling789
I don't use Aspire tanks, but for me "standard" size -vs- "mini" size is more about what battery I'm using it with. I'll use my mini tanks primarily on a slim (eGo-style) battery so they aren't so bulky or top-heavy... more portable, if you will. On my MVP, I'll primarily use my standard-size tanks. Now, will I put a KPT2 on my eGo? Sure... same for using a Mini on my MVP... Capacity also has a lot to do with it... but I vape about 3ml/day... so a standard tank will last me almost all day... a mini has to be filled at least once or twice (or I'll carry a couple extras with me if I'm away from home). Bebop
thanks for the info guys- what kind of battery does the guy in the video have on his mini? Paul My guess is a DNA 20 or 30 box mod of some kind. Dont recognize it.
SteezeOG
He's got the regular nautilus on a darkstar 30 box mod which is a dna 30 device and super awesome and I'm on a 12 week waiting list for mine. Good thing I have an iVP 2 50 watt box coming next week to fill that urge. The mini is on another box mod likely a dna 30 chip as well I couldn't really tell and it's been a few weeks since I watched it completely. It kind of looks like a vaporshark but I don't think they make them in that color.

subnuclear
i'm using my BVC's on a aspire normal nautilus tank. i am getting dry hits at 18w unlike the reviewer stated. i'm not impressed with it yet. i'll give it time but right now..i'm calling a little BS on the review hype. I have done a direct drip before and that was the only thing that gave me awesome flavor (when i could prevent the dry hits). THE BVC is good but it's not a game changer imho. Bebop
Well, in fairness 18w is pretty high for a factory coil and the juice itself is a significant variable as to weather it can wick and take 18w.

I have done a direct drip before and that was the only thing that gave me awesome flavor (when i could prevent the dry hits). THE BVC is good but it's not a game changer imho. 18 watts is way too high. You're getting dry hits because it can't keep up. The review people were pushing it to see what the limit was on the coils not to tell you what optimum wattage should be for normal use. The other coils maxed out at like 11 watts and these will take more. Doesn't mean you have to give it more. I ran the old coils at about 9 watts and I use these at 11. I wouldn't push them beyond the limit of my device (vamo v5) which is 15 watts. Matters what your juice ratio is too. Anything with more than 50% VG is prone to have wicking issues in a clearomizer. You're not going to get flavor like a direct drip atomizer that's just not possible with a modern clearomizer. You also have a lot less of the other problems. I don't usually use the term game changer for anything because everyone is playing a different game in their own heads but the new coils are well worth the cost of the upgrade. That's not really up for debate in my opinion.
subnuclear
actually i just needed it to wick in better. The dry hits are gone at 18W (max i can push with my evic supreme at those ohms) . On a side note the coils i got from world of vape are not at all consistant on their resitance. One of them came through at almost 3 ohms. the one on my evic supreme is at 2ohms. different boxes but they are supposed to be 1.8ohm coils. the vapor and flavor production has gotten a lot better. still not sure if it's a game changer but it's a definite improvement over the aerotank dual coils if you can push the amperage into it to make use of the vertical coil. also it's not drawing down my evic supreme in 5 hours like the mega aerotank does. I know according to ohms law it should be the same so i'm not sure if i'm getting some leakage current with the aerotank installed or not. the BDC nautiuls coils did the same to my supreme. I expected to get a least a day out of the battery and it's not happening. maybe i need a better battery than the one it came with lol.

Did you check the package to make sure they were legit? Should have a scratch off on the box. I've had every single one of them read at 1.8 or 1.9 Maybe even up to 2.0 is common depending on the accuracy of your device but not almost 3 ohms. Stock batteries usually suck but I don't have an evic I can't say. I know the button top efest 18650's run great in my vamo and I can get at least a day just chain vaping it non stop. Usually 2-5 days because I only use it and the nautilus tanks at night. During the day I'm going hard on the IPV 2 and zenith v2 at 40 watts and .5 dual coil build. Now that thing is a beast of clouds and flavor.

subnuclear
yup mine have the scratch off...just wildly varying resistances. got another one out today for another tank and it was 2.5ohms. these are all measured on different devices that while they may be wrong usually measure other coils within .1ohm of stated resistance. edit: on a side note the (i'm assuming) fake nautilus tanks i bought from fast tech all had factory style packaging with scratch offs on them. maybe i just got a good deal on some authentics eh? tea2085
so how did you know the tanks were knockoffs?
subnuclear
they are knockoffs because fasttech will advertise as Authentic if they are not. these were not advertised as authentic. the scratchoffs they use are of a lower quality than the authentic and if you check the code it will tell you this number has been used 1000+ times already lol. BDM53ENT
Wanted to share something I ran into on the authentic/clone Minis. The authentic mini in appearance is like the Nautilus full size 5ml. The top mount and drip tip are polished as where the clone is more of a satin finish. Side by side you can really tell the difference. The authentic air flow control ring is tight and precise as where the clone is easily moved. The clone also has a visible gap at the top and bottom of the control ring as where the authentic doesn't. Both BVC Mini clones I bought were advertised as authentic but Aspire confirmed, after emails pictures and security code verification, were not. Both came from different sellers online. ALL four coils that came with them were so poorly wicked you couldn't draw air them, period. The old saying you get what you paid for applies in my situation. I paid a few more bucks, bought 2 more authentics and moved on. After installing true BVC coils in the clones they work ok but the quality still isnt there. I know this doesnt add much to the topic but for those looking into buying an (authentic) Mini, I think you will enjoy it. I love mine but thats just my 2 cents Bebop
Bebop
@BDM - no, that's good information to have. It's important that people understand that many of the problems they have with gear might come from clones they think are real.
Tx Biker
My clones look so good compared to the genuine that you really had to look close and do a function check to really tell. The air control was the only thing on mine that was poor quality it works o.k. but sometimes sits of center and slightly restricts air flow. The clone bvc couldn't handle more than 7w and was slightly shorter than authentic. Also with the genuine bvc id stopped leaking in the air control. Other than that mentioned you cant tell any difference between my two.
