jsr27 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 How often do I need to dry burn. Will it burn up the wick?
3Rutez Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Once it gets too gunky for your liking. What type of coil are you using? When you dry burn, you should take out the wick and re-wick after burning. mvince201 and Compenstine 2
Monkeyman Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 What are you using for wicking material? I never dry burn the wick but I DO dry burn the coils in between wicking to get all of the old juice/crap off of them. No sense wasting a good coil.
Compenstine Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 The only time I would dry burn with a wick is if it is SS Mesh or Silica. If you are using any other wicking pull the wick and DB then re wick. I have had times where my cotton wick is so gunked up that I have burned it off. It is better than damaging the coil trying to pull it out. Mtdobies 1
regal Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 After about 2 tanks with my KFL using Nets I pull the wick, steam clean the coil and replace the wick. I don't think you really dry burn these but run water over the empty coil and fire till red.
