bcartervol98
Any ATT users out there on a share data plan might want to check their accounts. No one called to notify I was just looking at my plan and was able to upgrade to 6g shared data for $5 less than I was paying for 2g on a plan I just updated within the last 6 months. Its worth a look! My son runs through the data but we never get over 4-5g even when we use the hotspot a lot on the boat. I had just been paying the $15 a gig for overages but found the new plans on their site today when I was reviewing my account.
Jeffb
Thanks for the headsup. My wife and I have unlimited data but our kids dont. My kids go over sometimes.
Compenstine
I put a "Data Switch" on mine, we use maybe 20mg a month now. I was shocked when I first got the AT&T service and found my phone used 75mg just to run updates in less than 5 hours of being turned on. Now if I want the 4g on, I turn it on with the Data Switch, otherwise, it is off and only updates and uses the 4g when I want it to.
Earthling789
Check out Republic Wireless... No contracts, unlimited everything, and plans range from $5 to $45/month. Their phones (Moto-X and Moto-G) use wi-fi for everything (when wi-fi is available), and the Sprint network if no wi-fi is found. You pay up-front for the phone, or can finance it out over time (for a small fee, unlike ATT/Sprint/Verizon/T-mobile's "buy it twice" financing). I have Sprint as my primary carrier right now, but bought one of the Moto-X phones for $300 from Republic to try it out... so far, I've been impressed, and I only pay $25/month plus taxes for unlimited everything, with 3G access speeds when no wi-fi is around. They are also planning to add more phones to their line-up... but no news on when...
bcartervol98
I love my ATT service and have no plans to switch. Just put in an order yesterday for UVerse TV and Internet and am ditching Comcast. Savings are a consideration but more because Comcast plays too many games and they havent signed up for the SEC Network and NCAA Football specifically SEC Football is a passion of mine. That and the fact I can get the max plan with DVR boxes and HD in 4 rooms plus 18mbs download speeds for about $120 less than Comcast with vastly more HD channels. I am not a Netflix, Roku, Apple TV, whatever the streaming stuff is, user at all. I am sure areas vary, but everywhere I have been in the SE I have service when other carriers do not. I have become the go to weather radar guy on the lake since Verizon and Sprint will have no signal and I will have 3-4 bars. I do not do the new plan with phones, I will just buy my phone at the upgrade discount when it comes up. The new monthly plan is ok for those that want the latest greatest but as long as my stuff works I could care less if it is a 4, 5, 6 whatever. I will say this IPhone 5S is the best thing since sliced bread. I do not see how android users do it. I have so set peoples phones up to run apps for the business and set up their emails and what not and the Android is something I just do not get lol.
