The Vaping Viking Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I'm always curious as to what other folks follow sports wise. So I figured I'd make a list of my own teams (which is rather lengthy as I love watching most sports) and see how they compare and who I can mock/cheer with. NFL: Denver Broncos Detroit Lions Minnesota Vikings (Duh) Baltimore Ravens (Also Duh) NHL: San Jose Sharks Colorado Avalanche Detroit Red Wings NBA: Charlotte Hornets (now that they're finally back) MLB: Detroit Tigers Cleveland Indians (don't ask) College: Michigan State Spartans(Alma Mater) Ohio State Buckeyes Soccer: No. . . just no Rugby: I play rugby but have zero understanding of it I grew up in Michigan, always favored Colorado teams because I want to end up in the snowy mountains where I belong, and the rest are either some random childhood event that sparked my interest or its viking themed. I do everything viking. . . . everything.
grailhunter78 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I'm a straight Detroit fan. Lions tigers piston's and wings. Hate Ohio state love MSU That about covers it. Id say football is a distant first to all the rest except MSU.
Earthling789 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I'm not much of a sports fan... I love to play softball, baseball, soccer... even coached soccer for a few years at our middle-school and high-school, and still maintain my referee license (held since '94). I love to watch sports that are played for the FUN of it, not the pay or TV ratings, which is why I don't follow professional or college teams... multi-million-dollar pro-prima-donnas and colleges don't need my $$ I use to be a Red's fan, many years ago... before first player's strike...., back when you could pay to park, get a decent seat, a couple of hot-dogs and a drink and still have change left out of a $20 bill by the end of the game! The last time I took the family to a Red's game, we were out $350, the seats were crap, hot-dogs were cold (and tiny), cola's were all watered-down, mostly ice, and all I could smell the whole drive home was stale beer... and I don't drink beer! I hate to say it, because I know it is a soft spot and passion for many other people... but if all pro sports disappeared tomorrow, I'd likely not notice Mtdobies 1
aufin Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Tampa Bay Bucs since day 1. Why? Who knows, I just feel loyal to my home team. Like to watch fast pitch womens' college softball, and have a really large time watching the little kids playing (learning) to play baseball and football. Not so much on pro ball, either. Would rather watch college teams and the little guys. I remember having so much fun watching my son (now 41) when he first played football. The little guys had helmets and huge jerseys with little legs sticking out the bottom. They looked like little pac men running around the field bumping into each other. Great times. Mtdobies 1
