VegasVapor
Geez that's just dumb. California keeps getting stricter and stricter. I know in my parents' part of cali they've given houses a limit of how much water they can use in a month. If they go over that limit they get charged a ridiculous overage fee. Whenever I'm in town she's always yelling at me to be careful how much water I use when washing the dishes or taking a shower. Makes me glad I live in vegas lol. elem187
how much more fascist can states like Cali, NJ and NY get?!!? If Florida ever tried this crap I'd pack up and move to Texas where they still believe in individual liberty. I'm not just talking TV, but it always seems these three states always enact higher and higher taxes, ban everything in the sun because some special interest groups believe they should dictate how citizens choose to live their lives. Sorry I get worked up by out of control governments. Edited November 19, 2009 by elem187
GDub
I'm all for saving power, it helps out everyone. Here's hoping technology can catch up to the new power restrictions by the time they take effect, if so consumers could benefit greatly from reduced power bills thanks to legislation forcing manufacturers to make devices with the same performance on less power. I feel pretty confident that if the manufacturers simply cannot meet these goals without compromising their products the power limits will be restructured in a way that allows the devices to be sold. Consumer electronics make up a fair share of our public spending and the economy doesn't need any more set backs. When I was a kid growing up in Colorado we couldn't buy the really cool fireworks, so we drove to Wyoming and bought them there. I imagine if this goes badly you will see the same thing happen for TVs. Need a new 60", take a road trip!
