Flavour problem after replacing wick

I'm new to vaping. I recently burnt out the flavour wicks on my clearomizer and since I had no wick I looked online for possible things to replace it with. I found a forum that said you could replace wick with cotton from a q-tip. But, since then I've had problems with the flavour. I vape with a liquid that is 65% VG. It is supposed to create a strong cinnamon flavour, but since replacing the wick with cotton all I can taste is vegetable oil. Are there any solutions to my problem? Any help would be appreciated, thankyou

with new cotton the flavor is always going to be off for awhile. but you may have messed up atomizer when rewicking. got any pictures?

Thank you for your reply. No pictures of quality sorry.. But I basically rolled the cotton into a thread and pushed it through the atomizer where the previous wick was. Do you think that could have messed my atomizer up?

It could mess it up. What type of atty r u using?

is it possible the q-tips you are using are coated with a lotion or baby oil?

Just buy a new packet of coils... Problem solved
