Christopher Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 How cool is this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6cZLfK4Zjk James May from Top Gear U.K. is taken on an emotional ride to the edge of space in a U-2 spyplane.
GDub Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Now that's a government job I'd be interested in! Sick video.
Sinikal Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 A lucky man. What i would give for that opportunity.
NeRo9k Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 That's breath taking, must of been an amazing experience.
keenan Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Wow ! THAT would make a talkaholic speechless.
TheSmokingMan Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 Wow, really cool. It's amazing that one of those things fell out of the sky and crash landed in Russia, of all places. Did any one notice how balanced that aircraft has to be to land and taxi on landing gear that is in-line and not side by side?
Speakeasy Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 What impressed me even more is the security escort that followed the aircraft from the hanger, down the runway, and then met it after touchdown. Was is just security or did they have something to do with balancing the wings too? The wingtip langing gear falls away on takeoff. I suppose they may recover that after takeoff, but do they somehow help with it after touchdown too?
VegasVapor Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 wow that was just amazing. I'd get pretty emotional too if that were me. LOL
