SALTLIFE Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Put 2 brand new out of box in my charger (trustfire) and the light stays red for hours and they get extremely hot. My MNKEs get left overnight by accident sometimes and never get hot. Any ideas or is the normal
Proetus Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Does your trustfire have auto shutoff once batteries are full? I do not trust chargers that do not have built in circuitry for safe battery charging. Especially auto shutoff once the batteries have reached full charge.
SALTLIFE Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Must have been a one time weird thing as they both took a charge now without a hitch. Maybe it's time for a new charger
joejoevapekins Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Get a nitecore or a xtr. That's the ones I use Tam and Mtdobies 2
Conneazoo Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Plus 1 on the Nitecore charger. I have the i4 and it's rockin'!
Joshuab3687 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I use the efest luc v4 charger with no probs at all
Earthling789 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 I don't have any MODs that use 18650 batteries (yet), but I do have a couple of 18650 flashlights. I'll chime-in that the NiteCore charger is top-notch and has circuitry to "read" the battery and optimize the charge. Once it is charged, the unit moves to "trickle/float-mode" to maintain charge and prevent damage/overcharge.
trickydick666 Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I've been having that issue too, but also with a sony vtc 3
