is it bad for your battery to fire it with no tank or atty on it?

Recommended Posts

pushed power button on my I taste to check battery level and I know in the manual it says not to use without atty or tank on it. Just wondering can this damage it?

I mean pushing the button without the clearomizer installed

After a little thought on the matter, I decided to take a look at the manual.

From the iTaste VV V3.0 User Manual:

"Never use your iTaste VV without an atomizer, cartomizer or clearomizer. Connecting to a volt meter without the load required for high voltages can damage the device."

While pressing the fire button without a atty, carto, or clearo attached shouldn't be a problem, "connecting to a volt meter without the load required for high voltages" might have some effect on the iTaste's circuitry. The only reason I can think of for this would be because variable wattage devices determine their voltage levels based on the detected resistance of the load, and connecting an unloaded volt meter may "confuse" the circuitry.

Mine is not the vv it's just regular voltage and I presses the fire button with no atty or clearo just to see if it lit up and wanted to know if doing that with any battery was harmful like dry firing a pistol
