The biggest problem with metal is how porous the material. So you have to think about what quality of stock the machinist is using, going back to where they got it from to the point of finished product. In that materials road to the completed product how many oils and chemicals were used. But for the raw metal being leached into the juice it would not be harmful enough to hurt anyone. We breath in worse stuff from our natural air supply

Oh absolutely!

I was thinking about how I used to process wool, cotton etc for spinning.

used a galvanized wash tub and heated it with propane, stupid! I ended up w a relay special case of galvanized poisoning or think they said yellow gas?

So I think about aluminum etc

I remember a few weeks ago I was looking at some RDA clone and got to reading its spec sheet. The post on it are zinc plated brass. Who in their right mind would use that combo. Brass alone can be toxic when heated to a certain point then add some zinc on top of that. I don't think so. And on another note if some one is planning on getting a brass top cap for their atty be sure it has a stainless steel insert in it.
