New to vaping

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm new to the forum and also started vaping about 2 weeks ago. After smoking cigarettes for 10 years I decided to make the switch.

I know very little about this and I'm just wanting to get some of the basics out of the way for now.

Current device using is itaste vv 3.0 with kanger tech mini pro tank 2

Now my main question is this,

I run my battery at 3.3-3.6 "volts"I believe, and currently have a 2.2 ohm coil. Would this be a correct setting? I'm wanting a smooth hit, with no burning taste and a minimal throat hit.

Can somebody please explain the differences between the various ohm coils and running the battery at different volt settings?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

Welcome to VT! I have the same set up as you except for the coil resistance. In a nut shell, what you describe should be a fairly low power setting and should do well for you. The higher the Ohm's the coil is the more power (voltage) it takes to heat it up. So a 2.2ohm at 3.3v won't get as hot as a 1.8ohm would. You might not even notice the difference though unless you start to crank up the volts more.

As far as smooth and minimal throat hit goes it may have more to do whith the flavor, nic level, and pg/vg ratios in the juice you're useing.

Lower nic and higher VG will usually have less throat hit. If it has menthol or mint flavoring that could add to the TH as well.

Thanks for the reply, now I understand the ohm/volt ratio a little better. As for the throat hit I'm not having that problem so far, the last bottle I got was 60/40 and the one I got yesterday is 50/50 so I should be good there.

I replaced my coil in my mini pro 2 yesterday, and I'm still getting a burning taste.. It's a brand new coil that came with the tank and after filling with fluid I let it stand up so the fluid would get to the wick.. Why would I still be getting the burning taste?

Some ppl find with the higher VG liquids that because they're thicker they don't get into the coil as well. You could try to remove one of the flavor wicks in the coil and see if that helps. If you search youtube for flavor wicks you'll see several videos on how to do it. Very easy BTW... Save it in case that causes it to flood/gurgle, you can put it back in if need be. Might help with the burnt taste if it's not getting enough juice.

Well there is a good chance the liquid never got to the actual coil area.

I routinely prime most everything I use.

One drop down the hole before assembling can only help.

So do you think liquid may not have gotten to the very center of the wick?

And if I put a drop down that hole, won't I be sucking it back up? Or will the center of the wick absorb it?

Different tanks and juices burn differently so its hard to say what good for you on your current setup with your current juice unless someone has the same setup and using the juice. Even then what 1 person feels is perfect another may feel i sfar from perfect. You really need to just and experment and try different levels of voltage or wattage if your mod allows it which I think the itaste you have does allow you to at least adjust voltage. Therefore vape a little and adjust and then vape a little and adjust just start low and work your way up.
