fishguy1123
I'd like to hear what you all experienced during that honeymoon period. You know, that first few hours or days that you started with you vapeing. Good.. bad... or other. Thanks Edited March 4, 2014 by fishguy1123
Compenstine
When I got my first device it was a 410. and it only had cartridges that were dried out. Took another week to get some juice. Once I had the juice and started I went through about a pack of analogs over the next week. By the time my first week was up I was ordering a 510 and juice making supplies as well as looking into selling them in my Computer store. That was just over 4 years ago. BirdDog
I started with a 510 kit and a couple bottles of Dekang liquid. I already new the cartridges weren't going to work but tried it anyways. The cartridge frustration lasted about 2 hours before I moved into 2 hours of figuring out how to direct drip. Tanks didn't exist then and neither did big batteries. I was so excited and confused that I was trying to drip into the small hole in the bottom. When I finally figured it out, it was on to the learning curve of how much to drip in the atomizer. I had 2 bottles of liquid, can't remember the flavors, but one tasted like dirty sweat socks. I only had half a pack of cigs left and that was it. After about a week, I ordered the 801 pen style. Holy crap! It will be 5 years in August.
Tam
I guess I was pretty lucky when I started out. A co-worker was vaping and I asked about it. She gave me a quick mini-lesson and the address of the B&M she got it from. After work I went down there and bought an eGo C pass through and a CE4 with two bottles of 24 mg juice. It wasn't long before an eGo T (it just came out) was added to it, another pass through. By then the Kanger T2s had just come out and I finally found an all day vape flavor that's still one of my favorites today: mojito. Thankfully, mostly due to luck, I never had to go through the agonies of the cheap-ish cig-alikes that so many others started with.

I don't regret my days of vaping the cigalike, I got some nice clouds (relative for the day) from dripping a 801. I can say they were not cheap lol there were pricey back then! Prices have come down and quality has grown leaps and bounds in just a few short years. Like Bird Dog we started when Vaping was just getting started. When I signed up to VT there were only about 2.5-3k members and had started one of the first B&Ms with Cigalikes and freshly made USA Juice. BirdDog
My Bunny friend, she was a real Bunny in the late 70's, uses the good old stick batteries. I turned her on to vaping. The small stick batteries (autos) work for her. I am not going to argue. She had a problem recently and I took a draw off her ecig to help her. The memories... It was weird to hold such a small thing in my hands and I have to admit, my fingers kept trying to push that imaginary manual button.

I was referring to the $20 non-brand name packs that are so prevalent in convenience stores these days. A close friend used those to get off the analogs. The wispy vapor and barely there flavor that I got wouldn't have gotten me off the cigarettes when I tried it. I'm just extremely grateful to have stumbled onto something that worked well for me on the first try.

They're tempting -- just so I can experience them first hand. Lol.

Lol. Actually, I was quite amazed at the draw I took off of Bunny's. Nice throat hit and produced some good vapor. Of course it had been about 4 hours since I had my own vape and the draw hit the cutoff. So at that point, anything would have been satisfying. I'm asking for a rec for a cig-alike. Not something we see on this forum often. Lol. Edited March 4, 2014 by Tameiki
BirdDog
Do you remember the brand? I don't remember. She gets the cartridges from Walmart. It is not a Blu, something with an "E". Envy maybe? She gave me some of her empty cartridges and I filled them with some liquid. I had to use the condom method. When I tried to take the top off, it had some weird blocking that wouldn't let me top it off. I am not even sure what it was. KR808 or 901? It seemed to fit on the 901 adapter I had in storage. BirdDog
Oh my, haven't heard that term in a while! A bit "risque" isn't it? LMAO! I want to add that I would have tested them after I filled it but the adapter I had was for an 801 to 901. The only battery I have that takes the 801 is the VPPT. It hits at 5 volts and I didn't want to run the risk of burning them out. Edited March 4, 2014 by BirdDog need dictionary
