Proetus Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) Let me know if you find a chip that isn't twice the normal price. Ensure you use proper battery safety, the correct batteries, fuses etc. Edited February 28, 2014 by Proetus
Happy Vapor Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Let me know if you find a chip that isn't twice the normal price. Ensure you use proper battery safety, the correct batteries, fuses etc. got all my specs right and two 30 amp Samsungs having a few issues with the box though. I found a site to order dnas in bulk. I'll find the site and let you know. As a matter of fact let me get them in and I'll let you know if it's worth it.
Proetus Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Define bulk! My last buy we ordered 123 and 100 charging boards. That was early February, still haven't shipped. Karen at evolv said hopefully today.
Happy Vapor Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Wow I just ordered 30 dnas I hope they come sooner than that
WillBlack Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Just don't make the mistake of buying Evolv's over priced and under powered charging circuit. http://lygte-info.dk/review/Review%20Charger%20TP4056%20UK.html The Top Rated Plus eBay vendor he got them from. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-Mini-5V-USB-Interface-1A-Charging-Board-Module-Charger-For-Lithium-Battery-/180921085924?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a1fbcafe4 Seems this FT one may be the same. http://www.fasttech.com/products/1453504
Proetus Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I agree with Will 100%. The .5 amp charging board takes a year to charge even a 1-2000mah battery let alone trying to charge anything over that. Most definitely use a 1amp board. The board listed is the board I used but mine is in micro USB I believe. Evolv is scrambling to fulfill dna30 orders right now. They had issues with suppliers for certain pieces of the board, which set them back a week or so. The demand is incredible right now.
WillBlack Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Too bad about the supply problems. For those who want to get into VV/VW modding on a budget, this is a good start. Pretty much ready to go, display, charging circuit etc. They are pulls, but the price is right. A good way to hone your skills without breaking the budget, http://www.hoosierecig.com/Groove-PCB_p_763.html Do note the 5A output rating should be taken with a grain of salt with any listed 15W device.
Proetus Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Hilarious that they are making money from recalled devices!
Joshuab3687 Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Thats pretty neat to be able to see the inards!
rgunn1 Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 From another site, heat bent plexi. Where's the seam?
