Destiny Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 So I am looking at getting my first Vaporizer and had questions before I just went ahead and got one. I have been looking at a nemesis clone which I think I will really like, but I wanted people's opinions first. I know people tell the noobs starting off not to get a mechanical mod, but why is that? Also, what does it even mean by "mechanical"? I don't want to get a Vaporizer for "noobs" just because I am new to them. I would like to get a nice one that will last me a long time. So if anybody has any suggestions for me or opinions they would like to share, please feel free to post them. Any help is appreciated Thank you
Tam Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Also, what does it even mean by "mechanical"? And this is exactly why we tell "noobs" to start simple before moving on to mods. There's a learning curve to e-cigs so it's best to learn the basics first. If you wanted to learn how to ride a bicycle you wouldn't start out with a jet first, right? I'd go with a Vision Spinner battery. It's variable voltage so you can grow with it. It's got enough oomph to keep you happy for a good long while. Even with my mods I still use my Spinners on a daily basis even after vaping almost two years now.
Bebop Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 (edited) Yes! With a Vision Spinner and a quality tank you can have a great set up that will last you a long time that is head and shoulders above the "cig-a-like" products that dont perform well. I dont see any reason to get in to mechanical mods as a beginner unless you know you are a hobbyist and enjoy the extra work involved, or, you are simply not satisfied with "normal" vapor production. A vision Spinner with a good tank and good juice will consistantly deliver more vapor than any cigarette could produce smoke. And they are "plug and play" easy, which if you are not a hobbyist is a great advantage. That's all just my opinion. Edited February 15, 2014 by Bebop12 Tam 1
bcartervol98 Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 If you must get something fancy, I suggest a Vamo. If not, a Vision Spinner. Everyone is different but I am approaching a year of vaping and smoke free living and I have gone almost back to non VV Ego style batteries everywhere but home. People suggest against mechanicals for a noob in the same way I would suggest against a Corvette as a first car. If you really want something to last a long time bite the bullet and get a Provari. Just my 2 cents.
Destiny Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 Alright, I thank you everyone for your help. Now, is their a certain tank that is suggested? And also, I was looking at mister e-liquid and that seems to be pretty good e-liquid. Does anyone have experience with that site?
Tam Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 When I'm not direct dripping I use an Anyvape Davide, Anyvape Davide mini, Kanger Pro Tank 2 or a Kanger Pro Tank 3 with a single coil. These are all bottom coil (the heating element is at the bottom of the tank instead of at the top) units with Pyrex glass tanks. The advantage of using something with a glass tank is that you can use any flavor of juice without worrying about the flavor cracking the tank. With plastic tanks you'll need to be careful with a juice that's high in citric acid, mint, or cinnamon because those are known to crack plastic. The downside of a glass tank is that you do have to be aware that it's glass and will break if you knock it hard against something or drop it. Everyone has their favorites, it's just like e-liquids. What tastes great to one person will taste terrible to another. You just have to try it to see if it works for you.
Destiny Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 I have been looking it up, and I think the vamo v5 would be a real nice mod to get. One of the main things I am interested in is cloud chasing. I have read that it can be very dangerous if done wrong, but I believe that is only for mechanical mods. So I am just wondering before I get it. Will the vamo v5 be able to produce big clouds. And again, I know the mod doesn't have a whole lot to do with vapor production but I do believe it contributes. I know to get the vapor I am looking for I need to get 100% (or close) VG e-liquid. And the ohms and wattage has to be set right as well. Hopefully I can get the thick, dense clouds I looking for.
Tam Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 If you're going to go cloud chasing you'll want to get an RDA and learn how to build your own coils... Joshuab3687 1
Aquatroy Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 You have to learn what a cloud is, and how it is made safely, BEFORE you start chasing them.....it's a small learning curve, but you must take the right path to get where you want to be... Joshuab3687 and Bebop 2
