Cjcrf Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Well I went into the box where i keep my juices to steep today, i haent been in there in 2 months i forgot about it and all my brand new juices went bad and of course this is the day my ego broke
Patricia Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I was told that juices have at least a year shelf life so 2 months should not have made them go bad. 2 months is actually a good time for steeping. I have juices that have been steeping since before Christmas. I am curious to see what the seniors will say about this. joejoevapekins 1
Bebop Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Some things just go bad, high school chemistry teachers, Robots, Leroy Brown... Whattaya gonna do?
bcartervol98 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I have many liquids I never put the lid back on. Endless Summer never has a lid on it from the day it arrives till I squeeze the last ml out of the 125ml bottles.
Cjcrf Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 everything seperated and i shook em they wouldnt re mix and it had the worst oder ive ever smelt
Aquatroy Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 We're they kept dark, dry, and cool? DIY juice?
bcartervol98 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 everything seperated and i shook em they wouldnt re mix and it had the worst oder ive ever smelt Wow I have some approaching a year old but am back in the mode of "one flavor is all I need" so they are getting old. I have never seen a liquid separate, strange. If its DIY not sure what to tell you but if you ordered them somewhere, probably wouldn't order from them again. Never even heard of that happening.
irwink Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 everything seperated and i shook em they wouldnt re mix and it had the worst oder ive ever smelt Might want to try a different juice vendor. Like others I've got juice that's as much as 2 years old that has never gone south. I take no special storage precautions other than caps on and it never gets really warm.
spydre Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) What vendor did these come from? I had juice sitting in my cabinet for nearly four months before I got back to where I could stand it again, and it never went "bad", and I've never heard of juice separating, unless it wasn't properly blended. I would look for a new vendor, or at least contact them and ask them why would have separated, especially to the point that shaking vigorously would reincorporate them, after only two months. Heck, I have sample bottles sitting here that are up to 7 months old without that problem. EDIT: Oh, check the bottle to see if there is a born on date, at least an indication of what month/year it was packaged/mixed. Edited February 14, 2014 by spydre
Cjcrf Posted February 15, 2014 Author Posted February 15, 2014 they were from mount baker vapor and they were custom made 2 months ago
Jerryosterdockjr597 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Contact them! I would love to hear what comes of this
charla.bacon Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 they were from mount baker vapor and they were custom made 2 months ago I have a lot of juice from mbv that are over 2 months old. None of them have separated.
Happy Vapor Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 I have a lot of juices that are 3 and 4 months old. I put them on the shelf because they weren't that great. I gave them another shot not that long ago and they were delicious. Just needed to steep a while. Never heard of separation.
MostlySunny Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 I've never had juice separate from vendors or my own DIY. I wonder what caused that and what those juices were made with!
