Ploom

STAY AWAY FROM PLOOM!!!!! I got one of these rip offs for $75 and received quite a sizeable shock the first time I tried to light it. The mouthpiece gets flaming hot, and you can just hold the bottom; the rest is too hot. Worse of all is the nauseating fumes from butane. Not to mention their handy dandy pods taste horrible and upset your tummy. I'm giving mine to my son in law!:rolleyes2::rolleyes:

Boy, I'm coming late to this... last post was, in 2009... but I'll jump in with my two cents. I was a pack a day analog smoker until I ran across mention of the Ploom in a New Yorker article, looked them up online, and bought it.

It's not marketed as a smoking cessation device, but it worked for me. I have not smoked one single analog since February '11. It was a cool looking little device, and the flavors were tasty, but it broke very quickly... it just refused to light after a while. So I returned it and bought another one... which also broke. As did my third. Finally, I just figured, the heck with it and started chewing Nicorette.

I guess that's what I get for buying a product that has the word "BETA" stamped across it. The fact that three of them broke infuriates me, particularly when I paid close to forty bucks for the thing, and six for each back of 12 pods... but I really don't begrudge them the money, I guess, considering that it got me off analogs. But now I'm using the Smox e-cigarette. Hasn't broken yet...
