Is there any type of wire easily found around the house thats safe to use for coils that performs well? Im interested in trying a bread tie. I used one minus the paper and plastic to make a homemade cigarette lighter while in jail so im curious to know if anyone has tried this on a vaporizer.

I do know for a fact that with 9 volts it glows cherry. So im making a coil as we speak bout 3mm in dia. and with 7 wraps ill update this when i determine the successfullness of this attempt on 3.7v.

While playing with electricity of this nature please don't be around anyone else, especially kids. If you wish to melt your face off by doing dangerous things without using the proper equipment feel free. Just don't place anyone else in danger with your shenanigans.

Just so you know Proteus... my "shenanigans" as you call my creative streak paid off. Works like a champ. Doesnt last as long as Kanthal but hey i can get a slew of em from boxes of trash bags and they last a day or so. So WIN/WIN. and for your information i have a fluke meter and years of electrical experiance so i know what im doing for the most part. Who are you to criticize me for Edison and Franklinesque inventiveness?

I'm fairly sure the quality of the bread tie wire isn't what you want to vape with..wouldn't surprise me if here was some lead in there to keep them flexible..or even aluminum. So go ahead, we will just watch..from a distance...

Thanx Troy i appreciate your helpfullness in suggesting there may be lead. Ive checked with a magnet. It is a ferrous material the possible lead content worries me though. I hadnt thought of that one. Ill jusy stick with the Kanthal then. Lmao I have been referred to as being the most foolish genius by my Dad. Here, my excitement gets the better of me.

Ok ok. I discovered Kanthal is actually quite cheap and easier to find than i thought. $3.95 for a 50' roll 30g im planning a six coil Peter Cottontail build on my Nimbus. Cheers mates

With 30g? That's gonna be kinda pointless. You will have to wrap crazy low to make it worth your while. I would do micro coils with 28g instead for a 6 coil build.

Thats my problem so far, is i lack the experiance to know off hand what wire gauges works with what ranges of builds. Somebody needs to write a chart for this shyte!!! Lol

I a triple strand rope twist and it came out as .94 percoil. My batteries cant handle that. Lol not running as a dual coil. Ima wait to get my 30 amps in and try them then...lol im brave just not stupid.
