I noticed that to. Maybe I should have wrapped it with the thinner coil on the outside or maybe one less wrap. I'll keep that in mind on the next one I build. Thanks

Ok guys help me out and let me know if you've seen this yet.. I know it's similar to a caterpillar track but it's not one so I'm trying to figure out if it's been done yet.

I two 2 strands of 28 gauge and wrapped each of them with a 32 gauge wire separately. Then I took a 30 gauge wire and loosely wrapped the claptoned 28's together in parallel. If it doesn't have a name I'm gonna call it the "Tank Track" since that's what it looks like to me lol I'm sure it's been done before I just haven't seen it yet.

It's a Staggered Fused Clapton. A little more staggered than usual. It's nice though. I've made a few.

Here's one I posted here a few days ago, I built in parallel tho.

Whatever, it's not new or original. You asked I replied. It's a Staggered Fused Clapton that's spaced too wide in my opinion. I said it was still nice though. But it's a common build. Sorry to bust your bubble.

I made this one a month ago.

One of these days I will build me a Clapton coil, you guys are making me jealous lol.Do they take long to heat up when you fire it?

You probably need at least a 30 watt device. You'll need 32g or higher wire to wrap on 28g or lower wire. Did you see my post about The Clapton Tool. With a lil practice you can crank 1 out in just a few minutes.

This was my very first successful attempt at a Clapton coil (second attempt overall).

It's a little sloppy, but I'll get better. Even with the sloppiness, I've had two friends make requests for coils. This one took me a total of about about 5 minutes from start to finish. That time included swiping a "Hello Kitty" band-aid from my youngest for my thumb (be careful when wrapping wire around wire for a Clapton coil...you CAN cut yourself, and cutting yourself can put a huge damper in making Clapton coils).

This one was 30g wrapped around 22g. I was using it as a learning experience, not for function. I have some 32g and some 36g wire on order. Should look a little cleaner with the smaller gauge wire.

You weren't bursting my bubble lol and I find it funny that you think you were I just agree with the name you've given it and since a Fuzed Clapton had to normal core wires, not Clapton wires. And spacing is all about preference I wanted the larger spacing.

So this used to be my favorite and most-contributed-to thread. Seeing as I am now cruising the site again, I figured I'd throw up some shots here.

These are glow shots and not AT ALL my best builds. Just some cool pictures of some fairly plain builds that I've done in the last few months.

I decided to revisit twisted flattened wire. 24ga this time.

coilporn2.jpgA loosely wrapped clapton. I wanted to get a clapton glow shot. I wrapped a much tighter one than this, but I wanted to get a better view of the 24 at the core. This one produced a much more pleasing glow shot. I'm a better builder than this, I promise :P

This was purely for detail. I roughed up the wire with some magnetized pliers to get some shavings on the wire. I DID NOT VAPE THIS.

Hope y'all enjoy. Some cool shots of some simple builds. I'll try to contribute more.
