joejoevapekins Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Does the bevel eliminate whistling? yeah it makes the whistle go away. I also use a dremil with a smooth stone to clean up the inside
iheartvape Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I need to try that then, I get bad whistle on my igo-w, plus it looks cleaner.
joejoevapekins Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Lol my nimbus use to make the neighbors dog howl
3Rutez Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 The new trend seems to be using copper pipe reducers for top caps. They use a dremmel to custom fit them onto their RDA. This way they have a huge opening to draw from, and don't really have to worry about experimenting with larger sized air holes, as the reducers are pretty inexpensive. Cloud chasers....... lol. DragonGunner Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I'm vaping a twisted 28ga kanthal parallel coil build 6/7 wrap for .3 ohms. She's not pretty but damn flavors and vapor are none that I've experienced yet. I put her in a trident clone and had to really fight to get the wires to fit (almost gave up but so glad that I didn't). Now just waiting on my new magma rda from Paradigm mods to try out some builds (its at the house but my wife will bring it to Europe when we meet for a quick vacation). Joshuab3687 1
3Rutez Posted May 14, 2014 Author Posted May 14, 2014 Standard 26g dual micro coils @ .36ohm . Pretty good vapor production. Joshuab3687 1
Crazyavonlady Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Dual parallel 26 gauge, 6 wraps around a 2mm screwdriver. Exactly .2 ohms. Flavor and cloud are both phenomenal in the stillaire. Joshuab3687, Love2VapeDaily and 3Rutez 3
3Rutez Posted May 19, 2014 Author Posted May 19, 2014 I've yet to try a parallel coil build. May have to dust off the RDA and try one out.
mvince201 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Running the Igo-L today with a single micro 26g. Flavor is pretty awesome vapor production is mediocre. Little too much airflow for this build with dual 3/32 vent holes.
joejoevapekins Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 (edited) Dual super nanos at .2 using 24g A1 Edited May 19, 2014 by joejoevapekill mvince201 and 3Rutez 2
mvince201 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Dual super nanos at .2 using 24g A1 Sweet build! Do you prefer nano coils? I haven't tried any yet.
joejoevapekins Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Don't really have a favorite. Every build is different. They all have pros and cons
Joshuab3687 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Every build is Joe's favorite! Lol Just bustin your nads buddy!
3Rutez Posted May 20, 2014 Author Posted May 20, 2014 They used my 26g dual coil Kraken build picture in the Coil Porn (FB group) banner. I was like WTH!?! Lol.

DragonGunner Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 I'm rocking a 28ga kanthal parallel coil (5/16-I forget how many wraps) at .5 ohm in my R91%. The flavor is great and it really spews the vapor (the most ever from my my russian). Now just waiting to get my 22ga, 24ga, and 26ga kanthal and my Magma to get delivered to me this summer to try out some new builds. I havent read through this entire thread but have you guys played with parallel coils?
3Rutez Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 My brother had the IGO-W I lent him rebuilt at the local vape bar. He called me, asking me why his mod and fire button were getting scorching hot everytime he took a vape. I told him to stop using it and asked what the resistance was. He said he didn't know. I then asked if they checked it with a meter after it was rebuilt. He said no, they didn't. WTF! ?! I told him to use my meter and let me know what it reads..... .06ohm. He is running a Sony VTC4, which is only safe down to .2ohm, any lower and you are in the red zone. I checked the build this morning and they did a dual 4 wrap parallel with 24g Kanthal. What kinda idiot would do that?? The whole point of a parallel build is that it gives you MORE surface area with less resistance. I went down to the shop with my brother and spoke with my friend, the owner, and told him to have a nice and informative discussion with his staff on safety. Mtdobies, fishguy1123 and Joshuab3687 3

I'm glad he had the good sense to call you. Many of these staff who build are just newb builders themselves and have no clue about safety. They just want the sell. Joshuab3687 1
3Rutez Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 The crazy thing is that the build was very well done, and perfectly wrapped. He definitely wasn't that much of a newb at building coils. If you are going to build a coil setup for a customer you need to first ask some questions. Like, what battery is being used? How experienced is the vaper? If they aren't very experienced, you need to give them something simple, and not the latest craze. I know I'm one of the rare types, who started small and slowly worked my way up the chain. I didn't pick up a mech and an RDA until I had researched the hell out of building and safety. Even when I entered the waters, I entered very slow and cautious. Yes of course I wanted to blow huge clouds, but I wasn't going to jump head first without being experienced enough to swim without any fear of drowning. These new vapers want huge clouds, and they want them NOW. The shops want repeat customers and sales, and if you don't give the customer what they want when they want it, they will go elsewhere. We just need to slow down. One thing I learned from construction and carpentry is that you measure TWICE and cut ONCE. Bushwick, Joshuab3687 and Love2VapeDaily 3
iheartvape Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I played a few times with this style awhile back, figured I would try it out again.... Here is a Dual Twisted 30g Nano Dragon Coil.... 3Rutez and Joshuab3687 2
mvince201 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) That looks sweet! I did a 26g dragon build last week. Just regular ole' duals right now though Edited May 26, 2014 by mvince201 3Rutez 1
iheartvape Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I usually.just stick with my standard dual or quad coils. I was in the mood to play with wire though and haven't done a Dragon in a few months. Still not a huge fan of the Dragon coil. Joshuab3687 1
Love2VapeDaily Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I can't get a dragon to produce any vapor. Cotton through the coil works better for me
iheartvape Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 I can't get a dragon to produce any vapor. Cotton through the coil works better for me I can get vapor, but it's just not an airy enough draw for me cause all the cotton that's goes into the coil build. That's with enlarged airholes in my top cap.
