thvapor Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 This little beauty I made is reading .5 ohms but won't fire I'm guessing amp issue??
Compenstine Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Looks like your coils are way to tight, loosen the wraps with a Xato knife. The top coil in that pic looks smaller that the other and to be touching the base. You should also trim your leeds before testing, helps prevent possable shorts. thvapor 1

Well I did away with one coil and it's reading 1.1 ohms.. guys this thing makes rediculous clouds now.. Rixter 1
Rixter Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 (edited) This little beauty I made is reading .5 ohms but won't fire I'm guessing amp issue?? Try using a higher gauge (smaller diameter) resistance wire if you wanna keep your dual coils the same approximate length while increasing the resistance level of each coil. They're micro-coils...the wraps are supposed to be touching, but yes, make sure your coils & untrimmed leads aren't shorting against the RDA's surface. Edited October 20, 2013 by Rixter

3Rutez Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Nice work fixing your issue. Micro coils are where it's at. You haven't seen nothing yet.
3Rutez Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Will the MVP even fire sub-ohm coils? I know my eVic doesn't.
IMEDICx90 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Will the MVP even fire sub-ohm coils? I know my eVic doesn't. No most APV's (other then a dna20 mod) won't fire a coil below a 1.1 because the circuitry is built that way. It stops you from having a short, or what it perceives as a short.
3Rutez Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 That's what I thought, although I have heard of some being able to fire .8 and .9ohm coils with their MVP's.
iheartvape Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 My SVD won't fire sub ohm either. I tried last night.... Lol
thvapor Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 For anyone interested I used a dental pic to wrap using 30g kanthal.. about 7 wraps and of course using a torch to compress the coil.. best vape so far with my trident..
Proetus Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Yep micro coils make some massive clouds that's for sure! Digging my nimbus w/ dual coils at .5. Gonna remake it shooting for .8-1.0
