O-ring replacements

Recommended Posts

Ok not very "fix it" oriented but one of my Davide minis lost an oring. It's not lost as much as broken, might be a better way to put it. It's the one that sits at the bottom of the threads at the top of the center post that the coil slides into on the end that screws into the top part that holds the tank and the drip tip. Anyone have an idea about finding a replacement? Or is this one just "spare parts" now? Lol.

I haven't had to yet, but I had thought about what I would do. I had thoughts of buying food grade silicone, spreading it out on wax paper and cutting my own gaskets. Not sure how well it would work, but give it some thought. Christie said she used some kind of band from dog grooming to seal hers.

I saw a thread on ECF when I searched and someone said they e-mailed Eric and Discount and he sent them some replacements. Maybe they have them but not listed, not sure. In that same thread someone posted a link to an o-ring kit on Amazon but they were black rubber and not sure if safe to use. I believe those used in items for use with foods and such are silicone. I am such a non-mechanical person when it comes to fixing things.

I e-mailed Eric to see what he says too.

Eric answered back very quickly and said he had a few laying around but not enough to list for sale on the site. He is including a few on my next order, which I promptly made. I wanted more drip tips anyway :-)
