bcartervol98
Want a mod. Is this a good choice for a first one and everything I need? I have KPT 2 and Davide Minis. Looks like it has 510 and Ego connection. Nitecore/Sysmax i2 Intelligent Charger (1) AW IMR 18650 2000mah (2) VAMO V3 Finish (Black Chrome) (1)
IMEDICx90
That should be a fine set up for your first foray into the mods. you might want to buy a multimeter as well. I know it sounds stupid but just having one that you can keep checking your batteries every so often will come in handy.
bcartervol98
I have one but truly have no idea how to use it. I keep it on the boat for issues there. I sorta get it lol. With lithium ion batteries there is supposedly no battery memory my plan would be to always have one fully charged and use the other for a day or so and switch at that point to top the other one off. Is this a bad idea? I mean other than my Ryobi 3.7v tool batteries the Egos are the only other ones I have used. It looks like it comes with 2 short tubes. With the 18650 batteries you use both and with 18350 you use one?

The Zmax does and if I'm not mistaken, it's got the same circuitry...the Vamo just has a couple of extra buttons for settings & menu navigation. It'll also shut down when the battery reaches 3.4v. Rixter
Keep in mind that this review was for the V1. Most of the negative issues Phil refers to in the video have been addressed in V3. Edited August 27, 2013 by Rixter
WillBlack
VAMO V3 Finish (Black Chrome) Do note that's a very soft finish, Extreme care is needed if you are concerned with how it looks.
bcartervol98
Not too worried about it getting some "character marks" as I call them on my boat when I clip something.
Aquatroy
The black chrome is touchy, almost rubs off after time.. Get three batteries..you want to have a spare at all times, and rest them a while after charging Not rubs off more like patinas quick
Jeffb
The black chrome on mine started to wear off after about a months use.
Bebop
It looks like it comes with 2 short tubes. With the 18650 batteries you use both and with 18350 you use one? From the review I saw, there are three "tubes". Long for the 18650 and short for the 18350. The third tube , very short, is a sleeve that hides the connection point of your tank. Pretty sexy. I'm still researching the voltage/wattage option. I don't get that part yet I saw the Vamo V3 while I was out last weekend so I started checking in to it. Aquatroy
Carter change it to reg chrome or you won't be happy....
bcartervol98
I got 4 batteries total in the end. How long does one of these last vs say a 1300mah Spinner? I guess it's all relative though if mah=battery life given identical use, voltage, etc...
bcartervol98
Thanks guys. I sent an email to change it if possible. If not no biggie but they usually accommodate as much as I order from them lol.

Bebop
I have a question, i havent been able to figure this out. One kit i saw had 2 sleeves. Use one for a single 18350. Use two for stacking 2 18350s But in a video review I saw there was a kit that came with 2 sleeves, one for a single 18350 and a longer sleeve for a single 18650 In your travels did you come across these differences/options? bcartervol98
No the only ones I saw have 2 sleeves. You use one with an 18350 or two with an 18750 I think. I saw the video that said that too, that there was a version with one long tube but I didn't see it anywhere I looked. Bebop
Same here. All the kits I saw had the two shorter tubes. Still looking.... Oh, but I did find out more on vv/vw thats interesting but when I'm done I'll put it in another post because its general info and not Vamo specific. Short version - in "wattage mode" it adjusts power automatically for different resistances, so if you're changing tanks with different resistance coils it automatically sets the volts to match the differnt resistance to maintain the same "vape" i.e. if you are vaping a 2.5 ohm coil and you switch to a tank with a 1.8 ohm coil, it drops the voltage so you dont have to adjust it down to not fry the 1.8 I do like the fact that you can measure your coil resistance with a button push. I find that handy since resistance has not been consistent on coils for me. Edited August 28, 2013 by Bebop12 spydre
bcartervol98
Being able to measure resistance and battery life plus the VW are things I am looking extremely forward to playing with!
Aquatroy
"I don't think I'll ever buy a APV or mod" laughed then.. Laughing more now.... edgie13
I have an 18650 in my SVD. I'm at 3.7v after 16 hours of pretty heavy vaping. When this one is done, I'll put an 18350 in it to see what I get. I love the SVD. It's stainless steel, very well made. The fire button lights up green, yellow, or red to indicate battery level. It also displays the current battery voltage on screen (no multimeter necessary) . You can lock the settings so that you don't accidentally change them. It's telescopic so you don't need to carry an extra tube around when changing battery sizes. I got it for $43 shipped.
bcartervol98
Should arrive today! (In regular chrome, got it changed) How long does is take 18650s to charge? Ordered the NiteCore 2bay charger.
