How do you know if something needs to steep or if its just vile?

ANd , how much can a flavor change when it steeps? I know when I make chili its way better 2 days after however the day I make it is still edible .some flavors dont really seem vapable at first .

In my experience the flavor can go from vile to OMG, that's my favorite flavor! with steeping. Of course, some juices, no matter how long I let it steep -- remains vile.

To me.

Since juice and flavors are so subjective, it's hard to say that this is the case for every juice. Some, you'll love right out of the mailbox without any steeping. Others might take anywhere from a few days to a few months. You just have to try it every few days to a week to see how it has changed.

Sorry I couldn't be more specific but it really isn't an absolute. Like I said, this is what's been my experience. YMMV.

in my experience tam is spot on but juices that smell like perfume usually need steeping guaranteed.

Thanks , I kinda thought but I had to ask to be sure :)I was hoping that nasty coffee would get better I love coffee and really want it to be good

(but it sucks) I usually dont buy any with out smelling them , and if they dont smell good I pass-this coffee smelled so amazing too .

I dont think ill ever trust another coffee flavor . its like biting into a chocolate chip cookie only to hit a raisin - a big let down .

For whatever it's worth, Christie, I've found that most coffees I've tried needed steeping for a week or more.

Loved your analogy of the chocolate chip cookie.
