Grant951
I've had the same atomizer in for a week as of today vaping about 1ml a day. I noticed at the top of the wicks on one side it's getting really dark and it's getting hard to get a good hit. Time to change the coil? Also, would that cause the liquid to get darker? I'm vaping a gummy worms flavor that is high in sugar according to the lady at the store.
Jeffb
Time to change the coil. Over time, after being heated over and over again the wick and coil get juice baked onto it.
Aquatroy
Sure signs that you need to change it out, try cleaning it with hot water or a vodka wash then dry overnight. You could still get some more out of it....
Grant951
Alright. I just changed it before reading this and I luckily didn't toss the coil for whatever reason. I'll give it a shot. What are the differences between ohms? The one is came with was 2.4 I believe.
mcquinn
The lower ohms the hotter it gets .They usually come with three different resistance elements so you can try them all.I like the 2.8 best myself.
Aquatroy
Turn it down first time out...
Bebop
One of the tricks I do is change out my coils before they get too gunked up. I rotate a new coil in and then take the used coil and rinse it thoroughly and let it dry for a couple days. I've found that if you let them go for too long they get beyond the point where they can be cleaned. The low resistance coils (1.8 - 2.0) are best with thinner juices and give lots of vapor quickly but they're easy to burn up and give dry hits. With thicker mixes a 2.4 ohm is great especially if you have twist or a spinner and you can boost it up a bit for big hits and lots of flavor. That's just my experience. Grant951
Yeah, I really like the 2.4...I'm hating the 2.8 the hits feel really airy and I'm just having trouble getting a good hit. I guess I'll try the 1.8 and see if that's better.
IMEDICx90
i would try a 2.2 or a 2.0 before you drop all the way down to a 1.
Bebop
Keep in mind that that apparently resistance can vary with each coil too. Most come labeled 1.8 - 2.0 because they are just not that precisely manufactured.
Grant951
Well, the vivi nova I got came with 2.4, 2.8, and 1.8. I did not like 2.8 and I'm liking 1.8 a lot. I feel like 2.0 or a little higher would be my sweet spot. I'll have to get those next time.
Grant951
Also, how long should the coils be lasting me? I only vape like 1 ml or so a day. I was thinking more than a week...
