F-r-u-s-t-r-a-t-e-d-! need a little help ?

Recommended Posts

OK,I know its annoying with someone asking dumb questions all the time but this time ,I REALLY need some help.

I got my starter kit with 2 evod set ups - ideally my husband was supposed to use one - he didint .

so Ive been using both of them because I like 2 different flavors going .I got the kit which btw had a total of 7 coils included.got it on the 8th I think. In the time Ive had them Ive gone through all of those coils not sure if I killed them or if they needed to be changed or what because I started noticing I cant taste the vapor any more and I think what happened is I changed coils when I should have been cleaning them ? ok lesson learned not the end of the world till this after noon and I legitimately did burn my last coil, and had to run out and buy a ce4 on the fly(no coils at the place I went ) no big deal , its pink im happy with it In fact I think I might like it better lol .

QUestion 1) how long do coils really last ,and how do you clean them without jacking them up which I did

Question 2) how long do the ce4 wicks last ? they seem to be easier to deal with

Question 3) why cant I taste the vapor anymore , can the juice go bad?

I can taste food ok,coffee fine Ive read about vaping dehydrating people and somehow affecting the taste buds but I think at this point its a little late for that right ?Ive been at it a while now.I would think it would have been during my first week with my crappy blu lol

Im expecting some more stuff to arrive in the mail tomorrow I ordered a second kit of 2 ,some coils and an anyvape bcc tank so im not freaking out or desperate right now Just irritated Im not sure if this is normal or if this this actually does require this much baby-ing

sorry it looks like a ramble lol

thanks for your help.:)

OK. There are several methods to cleaning the coils and wicks. Some people like Bcartervol98 just simply toss the coil when it goes bad and buys the replacements. I on the otherhand go to the extreme and rewick and rebuild the replacements. LOL

1.) you can use an alcohol soak for a few hours (overnight preferably) and then let them sit out to dry.

2.) you can use some warm water and gently massage the wick and get all the nasty gunk out of it.

3.) you can always rewick the coil and clean the hardware in a soak of diluted rubbing alcohol.

You will know the coil is bad because it will stop producing vapor in the EVOD tanks. The replacements are pretty cheap but they are also very easy to pull apart and rebuild. I would recommend if rebuilding isnt something that you have an interest in(which is fine since its not everyones cup of tea) you buy replacements and when you get down to like 10 or so you buy more. that way you have plenty of time for the order to arrive and your not scrambling for a CE4 on the fly.

Your CE4 wick will last me anywhere from 4-7 days depending on how hard i am on vaping. My wife's last her about 2 weeks bc she doesnt vape hardly at all (also she doesnt smoke anymore so i dont mind :D), Thats more of a how many miles are you putting on it and how hard are you driving it type of a deal. Also an easy one to rewick to extend the life of the atty.

If your having trouble tasting flavors it might be time to switch it up for a while. I found i liek to vape vanda all day every day but sometimes i have to go with something different for a few hours or so and then the wonderful vanilla flavor has returned.

And yeah sometimes you have to baby your equipment but its worth it in the end bc eventually you will find a set up that you absolutely love and dont mind doing a little footwork for. :)

Unfortunately when using the same flavors, the flavor does diminish if I am using the same flavors all day.

The heat of the coils does tend to alter the flavor as you go through the liquid in the device.

My only solution to this is dripping......I use my evod, vivi nova, protank when I am out and I drip when I am home. Its the only way to get the clean flavor I so crave.

you stuff isn't broken. My coils usually last me 2-3 weeks...then again I usually have 3 devices I alternate between.

If you are vaping frequently on the same device, it does heat up. I occasionally get the burnt taste, but if its a newer coil it usually dissipates....sometimes the liquid has trouble wicking. for this I just blow through the mouth piece before I take a draw a couple times and it starts working well again.

My coils last 2 - 3 weeks, but to prolong their life I have found that periodic cleaning, even if you are just using the same flavor, helps. I don't do anything fancier than every few days pulling the coil, rinsing it thoroughly with hot water including gently working the wicks drying it off and setting it on a window sill for a day. Meanwhile, I just load up a new coil, fill 'er up and vape for a few days, then do the same thing but swap in the older coil. They last for weeks like this.

I have found that if you don't clean the coils while they're still working, the juice (probably the sweeteners in the juice ) gunk up the wick, essentially carmelize on the wick. The coil is fine, but if you let the wick gunk up it doesn't flow to the coil as well so you basically burn up the coil because the juice is not wicking. My method keeps the wicks wicking and the coil happy and I can cycle through coils quite a few times.

Having said that, I have also experienced bad coils that don't seem to last at all. One shorted out completely after one day. There is something to be said for the quality and there is the occasional dud or poor performer. But even rotating a couple of clearos I go for weeks without throwing out coils. Hope that helps

wow- SO I guess I can bring up the old " if it aint broke...." I think I probably just need to rinse them out rather than change them ,because none of them ever stopped producing vapor .In fact the coil I said I "legitimately burnt" before I got the ce4 , got rinsed and left over night is working now fine except for the "muted " flavor which is mostly just me .

oh - I read somewhere on another site that they kanger is not going to make the shorter shank coil for the evod anymore they are all going to be the longer protank coils (that I dont like much I had to tape up an air hole with those ) so I guess I might hang onto those and "try " to rebuild them ... I do like to tinker so it will give me something to do I really appreciate the help I was so annoyed last night I was looking for my blu at least with that is was plug n play lol

Ill stop over doing it for now .

I have been home alot lately (and bored) so ive been vaping this thing like a clubkid with a pacifier at an underground rave .

thanks again-

In the topcoil T2s I was getting about 2 weeks out of a coil, sometimes less. I changed coils any time I noticed any burned taste. Never really tried to clean one, just pop in a new coil. Just switched to bottom coil T3S's yesterday from the T2s and I like them a lot, but two out of the ten I filled had bad coils that flooded. No biggie, just popped in a replacement coil and no problems since. Not sure how long they will last but I am sure the correct answer is "it depends".

I switch flavors 3-4 times a day to keep it fresh. I do not notice the flavor getting less as the tank gets lower, it just seems my tastebuds will get used to it. I have 5 full tanks in my case almost all the time.

Just my 2 cents, but I think Kanger makes better delivery systems than Vision. The T2 and T3S both are superior in my eyes to the CE4. I am not a ProTank fan because of the metallic taste caused by the metal mouthpiece (I suppose thats what causes it). The only leak I have had ever with any Kanger product were these two that came with bad coils but once I replaced them they vape like a champ!

YEAH I HAVENT HAD A LEAK TILL THIS MORNING In the matchfree I bought yesterday , I found a little clear rubber band I threw on the counter last night ,

I thought It was a barbie hair band ( I have daughters ) But I figured out where it goes lol on the bottom threading of that ce4 lol took me a while after I noticed the leak .I had taken a dish towel and cranked around the thread and must have gotten it off .Im lucky my dog didnt snarf it up .they do that .

* I do think I was wrong about being dehydrated though , I just drank about 3 bottles of water since getting up this morning and seem to have my taste back - I just hate being wrong lol .after that first bottle seemed like I couldnt get enough lol .

about the metalic taste are you sensitive to metals? I ask because I just got that anyvape bcc and its got metal on the top and bottom and it is HEAVY! LOL havent used it yet kinda gonna let sleeping dogs lie so to speak .right now everything is good and Id not like any aggravation just yet .:)

Not really sensitive to metals, hell when I was smoking analogs and had to go outside I would catch myself with a paper clip in my mouth when it had been a while since a trip outside. Now I vape at my desk so I chew on less paper clips lol.

Question 3) why cant I taste the vapor anymore , can the juice go bad?

Juices can go bad, but it's not likely that's happened in your case.

It sounds like you've got a classic case of "Vapers' Tongue" :harhar: . In lieu of going into a long explanation of what that is, I suggest you click on this link to find out more. I will say that it happens to us all from time to time...especially new vapers.
