bcartervol98
As many of you know I am a fan of a few certain liquids and do not stray far from my core 4-5 flavors at all. I think I asked this question before, but cannot remember the answer. Say you have 3 liquids, all 3 same PG-VG ratios and all 3 same nic %. What would cause one to "wick" better or worse than the others? The reason I ask this is my three flavors I vape all day every day are Spearmint, Candy Cane, and Strawberry Fields. In the T2 both Spearmint and Peppermint taste the same from the top of the tank till there are droplets left in the bottom. I do not have to swirl it around to get the wicks wet at all. There is no drop off in flavor as the tank gets lower and lower. The Strawberry Fields however starts to taste a little yucky when it reaches about a half a tank. I have tried several different resistances and vape it at low voltage, but it has that "this coil is burned out" taste even with a brand new one when it reaches half a tank. Any idea why this happens with certain flavors with the same components except the flavor? I may have to try a bottom feeder for this flavor even though I am a HUGE T2 fan. Deckyon
It sounds like it is whatever the fluid is for the flavoring (all else equal).
Bebop
Pretty sure its the flavoring used. I' e experienced the same thing. Although the formulas of the flavoring are usually proprietary, as best I can gather tbe amount of flavoring used in any juice can be as high as 20 - 25%. That's a pretty significant volume of the juice. But I have to say, the quality control of the clearomizers themselves including the coils is not that consistent. So you have a combination of the wicking material, the cut outs in the coil, the coil wrap itself etc and these can be contributing factors as well. Patricia
My Strawberry fields does the same thing. But it seems that all of mine do if I let it go that low. That's why in less I am going to clean my VN and change juices I just fill it up when it gets down about half way. I thought that was normal. Spearmint and Peppermint do not do it. I have only changed the coils in those two T2s 2-3 times since I first got the flavors and with Strawberry I have changed them 5 or 6 just trying to get it to taste right. It just doesn't wick as well as the other flavors and by the time the tank is half empty it is 3 or 4 times darker than it was in the bottle. Its a shame too, its one of my favorites. I think maybe I will order a couple bottom feeders for this flavor on my next order. T3s or MT3s or something like that.

With the T2s I use my primary flavors are Spearmint and Candy Cane and I can vape till the last drop almost with no change in flavor or the color of the liquid even after 8-10 refills. This happens with Strawberry Fields from the first tank on. I can refill it (top it off) and it is fine until it gets about half full. You can even visually see it doesnt wick as well as the other two that are my all day vapes.
kitsune
It has to do with the way heat affects certain flavors, When its about 1/2 full it has been heated and cooled many times which causes some liquids to darken and lose flavor. If its really darkened, I dump and refill. Uma

I get the extra flavor as I am using 0 mg nic jiuce.
bcartervol98
This. I have this happen once in a while as well, especially since I get the VapeDudes with "extra flavor." I get the extra flavor as I am using 0 mg nic jiuce. The Strawberry Fields that does this is the only liquid I have that I don't order with extra flavor lol. I have come to the conclusion there is some factor of oil base in the flavoring making it not wick as well as the others.
Patricia
If it has to do with the liquid does it have to do with the PG/VG ratio or what the maker of the juice is using? I use a 70PG/30VG ratio. Over half way down my juice gets dark yellow/brown and tastes like burnt yuck in less I fill it up with fresh juice. I pinch pennies so I don't pour out the juice that is in there but it seems to fix the problem.
bcartervol98
Just ordered some T3S bottomfeeders. I am sick of dealing with wicks anyway. The KPT I got opened my eyes to how much more advanced the bottomfeeders are. From being able to change the coils with a full tank to the way the liquid feeds I think I will be able to safely say the T2s I have loved so long are about to be put in the "bullpen" lol. Patricia
I just got my BEAUTIFUL KPT from Brian. Thank you so much Brian. Now am I suppose to put one of the coils that came in the box together with the bottom of the KTP the put on the bottom. The VN came already set up but thus looks like you have to put the first one together. Am I right? Uma
Patricia
No having to let the wick soak up either, right?
bcartervol98
Yes you have to assemble it the first time. Just screw in the coil, fill from the bottom, screw the base with the coil on tight and you are ready! One trick I have started using with mine is to stick a Qtip through the mouthpiece making it impossible to get liquid in the center hole. They are a little trickier to fill than the T2s I am used to. Yea, I would give it a few minutes to soak up before the first hit. Patricia
IMEDICx90
YES LET IT SOAK!!! I made the mistake of filling it with rootbeer... and then i hit it right away. I instantly burned the wick (now i could have been overzealous with the eVic being at 4.2v lol ) but after i replaced it and let it sit... its hits beautifully! Also turn down your voltage for the first few hits, especially if you don't know the heads ohm rating. Some KPT's come with all 2.5s, others a 1.8,2.5 combo Make sure to clean up any juice you might have gotten on the threads with a tissue, or you'll need pliers to get it open next time.. Raven1
I am going on analog free for one month this Friday. I have signed up with Go Vista. For 49 a month they supply everything. Wicks etc. I plan on amping it up because it makes me a better person. They mix some great fluids. But I still go back to the head shop for the heavy duty stuff. I guess my point is to find a balance that works for you. This thing is a work in progress, saving my life but moving to the next level.
