karaannie Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Hi everyone! I'm Kara! Im 26 years old and I have had a 10 year pack a day smoking habit. I decided Sunday morning when i woke up and couldnt breathe from all the smoking id done the night before that I do not want to ever feel that way again. I cheated once and had a couple drags of a cigarette last night, but i felt awful about it! Ive been trying to use those lozenges, they have actually helped for the cravings, however i dont know what to do with my hands. I have made the decision to use e cigarettes mainly because I love smoking. I just dont want all the garbage that comes along with it. Ive been pouring over forums all day and I havent actually had the urge to go outside and smoke, which is amazing to me. I think that the support of people who have similiar feelings can really help me. I appreciate any and all suggestions like what you use and so on. Thank you in advance! Uma 1
Love2VapeDaily Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 A bunch of us started with similar setups. My first purchase was a 1300mah offbrand battery with a 2 ml tank and cartomizer. Now I use a variable voltage battery with a kanger protank. Aquavaporcig.com has great priced starter kits a low as $30 I think. But the hardest part is finding a flavor juice that you won't mind vaping all day.
Viper Ron Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Are you looking for something that looks like a cigarette of does that matter at this point? Ego,s and Spinner batteries are more cigar in size but last many hours longer.
karaannie Posted July 10, 2013 Author Posted July 10, 2013 At this point, i dont think it looking like a cigarette matters. As a matter of fact, im hoping that if the one choose is more "awkward" i may decide that its more of a bother and it may help me quit altogether. I still dont know much about it, i just know there is a better option than smoking real cigarettes.
bcartervol98 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) This thread shows what I started with. I have added several things since, but it details the whys and whats of my starting kit. Happy to answer any questions. Edited July 10, 2013 by bcartervol98
Thesheepdog Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 (edited) You are most wise Kara to run from tobacco. It will kill you and rob your energy, oxygen, and joy while it does it! Veteranvaper.com also has starter kits with a battery, charger and cart's. You just need ejuice. That is very individual. I like the fruity sweet tastes and use Nicquid's.com StrawNanna Smoothie. If you do get a setup let me know and I will send you some of the very mild stuff I like. That way you can see if it works for you. Welcome to the family. We all have stories and we all breath much better already now! Edited July 10, 2013 by Thesheepdog

bcartervol98 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Thank you so much for your kind word and guidance. My hunny hasnt decided to quit just yet, so its nice to be able to talk about it. Im going to check out all the suggestions yall gave me. I hope yall are ready for some questions! My wife was the same way, and I never put any conditions on her quitting. It was my decision alone to give it up and after 2 packs a day for 27 years this was my first attempt and am approaching 90 days analog free! She started to get interested because she saw how much better I felt, stopped taking the anti anxiety meds I had been on for years, and overall was a happier person. The wrinkles around my eyes have gotten noticeably smaller, almost disappeared all together. She finally said, ok Im gonna try it and now she has stopped taking her daily sinus meds. Our son no longer coughs like...ever. We never smoked right around him or in a vehicle with him but nonetheless, he has stopped coughing. I cannot even put into words what switching to vaping has done for me and my family. Even my cardiologist applauded me for switching and was happy to let me vape in my hospital bed while having some follow up tests done before taking me off blood pressure medicine all together. Tam 1
