ddavelarsen Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 I agree, Dave, I used to see it everywhere and now can't find it at all. But...I know a few people who still iron. What do you need to distill water and how do you do it? I make so much of my own stuff that I may be interested in this. I think I'd use my pressure cooker to direct the steam from boiling water (on the stove) through a coil - plastic air hose? - to condense and drip into another pot or milk jug or whatever. I don't know whether a plastic hose would work by itself, might have to cool it somehow to get the steam to condense. I also have a small lab glass condenser coil that would work for small amounts; don't think I'd try to use that though because I don't think it's big enough. This might be worth a try, or I can just keep using tap water knowing I'm building up minerals on my attys. Which might not be much better than just throwing them away. I do feel like they're better after I've boiled them though. So far.
