I'm in shock that their car lets them charge things when it's turned off. Ours will only charge while it's turned on.

Some cars do. In my car I actually have two ports, one that runs only when the car is on and another that allows cell phone charging etc when the car is off.

You know, I have a disposable I keep in my glove box. Probably not the best thing to do. But its for emergencies. I beleive heat is not good for the bat though. Will my car explode? Unlikely. Could it cause a fire? Possibly. Maybe if I put it into some sort of insulated package or something.

My vehicle has 4 DC plugs and 6 USB ports total but even so I only charge in my vehicle as a last resort as in I haven't done it yet.
