Atomizer connector stuck to battery

When I went to go unscrew my ego battery from the atomizer , the connecter from the atomizer popped out of the atomizer and is now stuck on the battery connecter. I don't care about the atomizer because at this point it's completely destroyed but I just bough this battery and now I have a addy connector stuck to it. My questions are 1 why did this happen, and 2, how can I remove it from the battery without breaking the battery ( It's really stuck on there) hope you guys can help me. I'd really appreciate it

The threads are soft aluminum and we have a tendency to tighten them too tight and the aluminum gets deformed.Pliers is about the only way and hope for the best.
