Newb question about atomizers

I aplogize for how many times this has probably been addressed, but I can't find a direct answer. I'm new to e-cigs, bought an Ego kit from Puresmoker over a year ago. Couldn't get myself to enjoy it, but am trying again. So, I have questions: I am using a 1.5ohm atomizer and would like a little more throat hit. Do I need to change to a cartomizer with more ohms or what? I've tried a 2.3 and 3.0 carto and the smoke is less and the hit seems to be less as well. Is it my setup or does a 1.5 atomizer hit better as it seems to me?

We all had to start somewhere and I think I've asked more than my fair share of "dumb questions" that were answered here by some really nice people.

With a 1.5 ohm atomizer, if you want more throat hit, go with a higher PG e-liquid. If you have a variable voltage device like an eGo Twist or a Vision Spinner, bumping up the voltage will also help. What's the percentage of PG/VG that you're using?

Could be the juice. I've used those attys on ego batteries and depending on the vendor, flavor, and strength, throat hit changed. Some juices are just stronger than others.
