jsr27
Hey guys I appreciate the help everyone gives and have a little question if ya don't mind. If I were using 500 ss mesh wicks for my vamo should I need to worry about lower resistance or not. Will low res damage a ss wick?
Uma
The wicks are like Hulk Hogan, there's not much you can do to hurt them. Wrapping your coil too tighly to where it slices through is about the only way to hurt these. Oh! Also torching to death will crumble them. Just torch a smidgen, (orange glow, NOT red), and for only a few seconds, to burn off machine oils and whatnot. Your Vamo has nice AMPs, and won't mind an OHM of 1.2 or higher. I'm pretty sure It won't like the lower than 1.2. but, that's where you can adjust your volts up a notch or two. I would go for the 6/5 wrap of 32 Kanthal wire, and increase the Vamo's volts as needed. Edited April 7, 2013 by Uma
robv1978
The vamo gives "LO" reading and won't fire under 1.2. I rolled a 1.1 last night and tested it. It works great on my mech though.
robv1978
You can still test your ohms on it but it won't work under 1.2.
Uma
Good catch! The new provari can now handle a 1.1 I believe, but yes, the Vamo is 1.2,, you're right. My bad.
