Newly Vaping Getting Bad Flavor

I got an Ecig as a gift. I've taken a picture of it because I don't know much about it and I'd like to ask a few questions.

First what type of Ecig is this? I'm guessing the clear part is the atomizer, and silver is the battery. The atomizer is almost a month into some daily use. I've been replacing the wicks at the top when it starts to taste a little funky, but I just put a new one in yesterday and a few hours ago it started getting bad again.

So I'm guessing I did something wrong. The wick is inserted in there snug, and it's good and wet. Do I need to clean it? Do atomizers have to be replaced or can I just keep using new wicks. How long should a wick last? So many questions.

Thanks for the help and the forum to ask these questions.post-20354-0-94593000-1360714850_thumb.j

You should get a couple of weeks from a coil assembly. If you are just replacing the wicks the element is likely funked up.If you are unscrewing an assembly and screwing on a new one when you say changing wicks you are likely changing elements as well.I would guess you are using low resistance elements and that could cause an unpleasant vape if you are of the high resistance ilk.2.8 ohms and up is high resistance lower numbers vape hotter.I cannot identify the device but if it is a Variable volt the voltage might be too high, that would be the same effect as low resistance a hot vape..If it is not that it could be just some nasty liquid, that is quite common.Try a different brand or flavor.Looks like good quality equipment so I am sure it one of the variable I listed.

From your picture it looks like en eGo battery -- 650 mAh from the length and I agree with mse12. That looks to be a T2 changeable coil long wick. If we're right, then you've got yourself a good setup.

On the T2 I've found that sometimes you get a bad atomizer (the thing you change inside the tank once you unscrew the tip and take it off), although I'm unfamiliar with the long wick version. That might be the problem? If you have extra atomizers/wicks you might try changing that out. Tip a little to thoroughly wet the wicks and let it sit for a few minutes so that the liquid soaks through before vaping. When I've gotten in a hurry and started vaping right after changing the atomizer -- it has given me a burned taste that didn't go away until I changed to a new atomizer. Once it's burned...it's toast. :(
