willmon22 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I have been vaping for awhile and it would seem I end up hiccuping when I exhale and it isn't great. Is there any reason for this, and is there any way I can prevent it. At the moment I am using orange cream 100% VG ANO. This doesn't happen to me all the time but when it does it makes me a little uncomfortable about it and want it to stop.
sgenn99 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Yes. It happened to me when I smoked cigs, too-I never understood why. It makes sense that it happens while vaping, since you're taking a lot of air in. But I never got why I would hiccup when I smoked cigs.
kitsune Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 hiccups are caused by irritation to the diaphram. Could possibly be from inhaling too deeply. Also, nicotine is a stimulant...you could possibly have a very sensitive diaphram, Other than that, not certain. Hiccups are a funny thing. for some reason, men are more prone to hiccups, their Diaphrams are positioned a bit higher in the chest cavity.....no really good cure that I know of....other than mayby thorazine. willmon22 Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 Well that may be. But you should tell that to this girl that when I was still in school. She was hiccuping throughout the whole class. She sounded like a bull frog and everyone was just roaring until the teacher told her get a drink of water.... but it didn't help.
kitsune Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 LOL....girls still get hiccups....guys just get them more often (not official....Just an observation)
danpio1217 Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I've noticed this happens, generally when i vape right after i've eaten a meal. That glorious after-meal nic fix I just set it down and give my stomach some time to digest. I wouldn't be overly concerned unless it persist and increases in frequency.
Jayden Posted December 4, 2012 Posted December 4, 2012 I've never had this issue, with vaping or smoking. So I can't think of anything to help
NorthernGirl Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Ugh, I hate hiccups! I used to get them while INhaling sometimes when I smoked... what a pain that was! Hated it when it happened at work because I only had a couple minutes for a cigarette. It ruined my entire break!
soso Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 This happens to me sometimes. Not every day or anything but sometimes I'll hiccup on the inhale when vaping.. When it happens, it happens on every hit for a period of time. If I just put it down and come back to it later, it will have stopped.
Christopher Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 This hasn't been an issue for me personally either but Kitsune's information is right on. Hiccups are the worst.
RomenHooper Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 i used get hiccups wen i smoked but thats because smoking made my mouth increase in spit but at the same time making back of me throat dry, so wen i swollowed mad hicups followed, wer as vaping it makes my nose dry and i cant hicup in my nose.
BHam Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 When I first started vaping I got "niccups" as a friend called them. I also started at a higher nic strength so I went down too. I find that while vaping I drink more water because my mouth will dry out so I don't get many niccups anymore.
bill45005 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 my experance has been more vg = more hicups
PixieVC Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Personally never gotten hiccups from vaping, but I do occasionally get hiccups from (of all the strange things that cause it) clearing my throat aggressively. That'll trigger them. I can stop them with a, oh, 70% success rate by drinking a large amount of water very quickly, and then, trying to.. burp. Clear any air that might be in my stomach... don't ask me why this works (sometimes), but it does..
CASEACE79 Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Happens to me all the time. For me anyway it happens when I get a toot that gives me a wicked throat hit. Also happens if I get juice in my mouth. Every time! Try lowering your nic. It'll happen less often. Trust me.
