willmon22
I seen this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjIusGTPB_I and I thought it looked like something cool to get and use. I am just wondering is it as easy as it looked like in the video to build it and get it going? As I thought about getting one at some point as it would seem to me it would be great to have. Also it may perform better as well being able to build the coil as well as the wick yourself instead of just replacing a head.
Uma
I have the genuine DiD20 and the genuine Mini DID, and the clone ones just came the other day. (from a coop). It works! But it ain't no genuine in any sense of the word. But it works. The screws are really really tiny, and a big pain to set into place long enough to get the feather weight allen wrench to tighten them. I would suggest using a magnetic allen wrench if you have one or a set of tweezers until you do get one. The wick hole is also a lot smaller than the genuine's. It works, but you won't be able to experiment with fat wicks and the such. Materials are, of course, questionable. Be aware of any scratched areas that come into contact with the liquid. Extra parts are really hard to find for the clone. (o-rings, insulators, center posts, nuts, screws, etc). and trust me, you'll lose a nut or something first thing... so, be sure to order at least 2 clones when you order one. Good news is, ibetanked has clear tanks for them! So yeah, it's a good little way to get your feet wet, learn the ropes, experience the joy of not having to "baby" an atty or carto until you can buy another. Just tweak it, recoil it, remove a coil, .... and experience the newfound love of fiddleling. Just know, that the genuine article, the DID from MMVapors.com is top notch in build, performance, and user friendly sized holes, nuts and screws. Plus all the parts are stocked, and never have to worry about loosing a nut or screw or anything. Ibetanked is also making clear tanks for the genuine DID too. (and they will be on site soon). Comparison: Clone = 16mm base, with 0.8mm screw hole and 2mm wick hole. (or even smaller). I don't know the exact measurements, but I bet I'm close! Genuine Mini DID that the clone copied from = 14mm base, with 1.8mm screw sized fill hole, with 2.8mm wick hole. The screws are also knurled user friendly thumb screws. Clone= larger unit, with smaller holes and screws. Genuine= smaller unit with larger holes and screws. Yes, the clone's work, but they are NOT exactly like the original in any way. Just so you all know this when you're trying to put that dang fill screw back in so you can get to work on time. oh, and p.s. the original does not leak even when layed down, as long as it's set up as the creator intended. (with fill screw, etc). I've heard that the Clone does leak, so be prepared.... (might be the o-ring or something?) Good luck and have fun!!! Once you have a rebuildable, you'll never go back. (except, of course, for emergency standbys, like that dang hot spot you just can't find atm) Edited November 10, 2012 by Uma
Jeffb
I have not been interested in the rebuildables. Im pretty much a no fuss plug n play vaper. A lot of vapers like these. Thats a cool thing about vaping is that there is something for everyone.
mcquinn
I think you would have more trouble with that than you are having with DCT tanks .I would suggest a Vivi Nova .
willmon22
I have one of these: http://www.free-cigs.com/Ego-CE5-Replaceable-Head-Clearomizer-_p_109.html as I have mentioned in another thread. I was assuming they are the same as a vivi nova aside from this one is rebuild-able like the rebuild-able version of the vivi nova. But from what I seen it looks to be completely round instead of a pyramid shape on top and round on the bottom of the tube. I would have went with the vivi nova but I didn't want to have to do 2 separate orders even though one had free shipping.
Uma
The genesis atomizers use a stainless steel mesh wick and there's quite a learning curve to it. They are for the more advanced vapers. There's a lot to it, but they're so worth it. The wick will last months, and the coils will last anywhere from 2-6 weeks and they're cheap and fairly easy to recoil once you've mastered how. Very frustrating until the wick and coil are mastered. I received my new BAM today, so when I took pics of it, I tossed in some comparison shots of the size differences between the genuine Mini DID (with the pink Drip Tip on it) and the clone Did, on the eGo Twist and on the Vision Spinner. Clone on the eGo Twist: and Mini DID on the Spinner Clone on the Spinner and Mini DID on the TWIST . Edited November 11, 2012 by Uma
