Suzicube
Hi everyone, I just bought my first E-cig kit. I choose a Ego-t and I love it. I am using it with the Clearomizers and really like those as well. I had a couple of question as I ordered all of it online and this is all pretty foreign to me. 1. How often should you clean your clearomizer and how long do they last? Should you clean them each time you fill it or just when you switch to another juice. 2. The kit also came with the atomizers and cartridges. I bought some sample juices so I'm using the cartridges for that. The cartridge seems to take about 1/2 dropper full. Does that seem right? Is one fill of the cartridge like smoking one cigarette? How long do they last and do you just toss them? I'm assuming you can't use multiple juices in one cartridge since it seems like it is cotton in the cartridge and you wouldn't want to mix them. 3. What is a drip tip? Do they replace cartridges? 4. I know the nicotine leve affects the TH but does it affect the taste of the juice too? 5. I am a 30 year smokers smoking Marboro 100's. What level of nicotine would you recommend. The sample bottles are 10ml but I did get 20ml of a larger flavor. I still am craving the cigarettes though. 6. My throat seems to be sore. I am wondering if this goes away eventually. I'm trying to drink lots of water. Is there a danger of vaping TOO much and getting nicotine overdose? Lots of questions! I hope not too many. I'm not smoking the tobacco flavor because for some reason if it's not Marlboro it tastes awful. I bought some butter rum which is a very yummy flavor. Thanks for any help! blucavvy
1.) I'm gonna let someone else answer the clearomizer question. i'm assuming your'e talking about the vision clearo's and i just haven't had enough experience with them to be giving advice. 2.) toss the cartridges, put a drip tip on your atomizer and just directly drip the juice on to your atomizer about 4 drops to start, then after vapor and flavor start to weaken about 2 drops, repeat with the 2 drop process. 3.) yes 4.) yes, more nic less flavor 5.) how much did you smoke per day? if a pack a day, i would probably recommend 24mg but honestly it's completely on how you react to the nic in e-juice. your body absorbs it much differently than it does from a traditional analogue. 20 or 18mg may be better suited. the cravings may stay for awhile, vaping doesn't completely erase them, you still have to fight through them, vaping just helps......a lot. 6.) yes you can vape TOO much if your nic content is too high. symptoms of having too much nic would be light headed, dizzy etc... if you start feeling that way put your ecig down for awhile. the soar throat is something all of us experience when we first start, it does go away. and yes drink plenty of water, vaping will give you "dehydrated" symptoms, but more water never hurt anyone. have fun with flavors, you'll find that most tobacco flavors taste nothing like a cigarette. just find what you like and try lots of samples. welcome to the forum, and if you have any other questions feel free to ask Edited September 26, 2012 by blucavvy kitsune
Tam
1. How often should you clean your clearomizer and how long do they last? Should you clean them each time you fill it or just when you switch to another juice. With the Vision (Stardust) V2 clearomizers I just clean those out when the juice gets really dark and the flavor isn't what it's supposed to be. If I'm refilling with the same juice I don't clean it out, I just drain the old (if you need to) and refill. If switching to another flavor, yes, I'd wash it out and let it dry overnight. The T2 clearomizer with the replaceable coil is easier for cleaning, imo. If the wick doesn't let go of the old flavor it's easy to change it to a new one and it's like having a whole new set up without the cost. 2. The kit also came with the atomizers and cartridges. Not familiar with cartridges. I've tried them but didn't care for them at all. 3. What is a drip tip? Do they replace cartridges? A drip tip is the tip that goes on top of the atomizer. The tip makes it easier to drip e-liquid into the atomizer and keeps you from burning your lips should the atomizer get hot when you're vaping. I'm still new to this but I love it now. It took quite a bit of trial and error (it's still a learning experience for me), but the pay off in the intense flavor of the e-liquid has been worth it. Kitsune is a great resource for dripping advice. 4. I know the nicotine leve affects the TH but does it affect the taste of the juice too? Um... still too new to vaping to be able to give you an answer. There are others here who are much more knowledgeable... 5. I am a 30 year smokers smoking Marboro 100's. What level of nicotine would you recommend. The sample bottles are 10ml but I did get 20ml of a larger flavor. I still am craving the cigarettes though. I smoked a pack a day of Marlboro Lights (shorts) for over 30 years and started with 24 mg of nicotine. That didn't last too long, though. Now, I have juices from 0 mg to 12 mg and I switch off -- depending on how I feel. You'll have to play around with the nicotine levels to find what works for you. I think it's different for everyone. 6. My throat seems to be sore. I am wondering if this goes away eventually. I'm trying to drink lots of water. Is there a danger of vaping TOO much and getting nicotine overdose? YES! Once I finally got it right with the direct dripping I got so happy (and the juice tasted so good) that I wound up faintly nauseous, more than a bit dizzy with a nasty headache. You'll know if/when you're getting there. I'm much more careful now. Good luck with the vaping! You'll find a whole bunch of wonderful people here who are more than generous with their expertise and advice. They've certainly been helping me get the hang of things. kitsune
Blucavvy and Tameiki both gave you excellent advice already. When you first start vaping, things are a bit overwhelming...I promise, It will all be worth it. I haven't smoked in over three years now....for me that is a major miracle. 2. For the most part the cartridges are very inefficient. but yes, fill the cartridge until the filler is wet, may have to pull the filler up a bit now and again. You can pull out the filler, rinse and reuse if you really want to. Now, that being said. The clearomizers are much more efficient and easy to use. As you continue vaping you will find many options and setups....its half the fun...trying new things. atomizers are much better for dripping (drip tip) 3. dripping (atomizer + drip tip) is much better than the cartridges....getting the hang of dripping can be a bit of a learning curve, but, in my opinion, worth it. 4. Nicotine definitely affects throat hit, but for me personally, doesn't really affect flavor. Most suppliers use unflavored nicotine in varying strengths. Flavors really depend on the supplier. 5. 18mg - 24 mg is a good place to start. once you get the hang of things you can lower the nic level if you need. For me personally, I'm ok with the nicotine. still use 18-24mg....personal preference. I like the throat hit. Craving cigarettes is normal, nicotine is a very small portion of the chemicals our body craves when we quit. finding the right flavors and strength help alot. 6. sore throat will pass. good on water. if you like butter rum, you will like butterscotch. so many flavors to choose from !!! questions are good !!! They help you and they help others new to vaping. ask away. tons of info on the forum. Tam
