NorthernGirl
I only have two flavors right now... grape and vanilla. I usually clean my clearomizer when I switch from the vanilla to the grape because the vanilla is a dark liquid and seems thicker than the grape. So, this morning I was cleaning the clearomizer before I made the switch. It worked like it should the next few times, but as the day goes on I keep noticing a plasticy, somewhat burnt taste. My question is this.... is dry burning really bad for them? I found a couple other videos on cleaning clearo's and they all said to dry burn after you're done draining the water. Should I just let it dry on it's own?
mcquinn
I don't dry burn, used to to to try to get the carbonized eliquid off atties to no avail.I usually just blow or sling them dry and let sit overnight.Especially with high voltage or Low resistance burnouts are a good possibility with the dry burn.If it is getting hot I doubt it is burnt out ,sometimes it takes a while to get the water out and that will taste bad .I would fill it up and let it sit a while . NorthernGirl
Thanks. My extra one should come in sometime this week. I'm gonna let this one sit as long as I can and see if it helps. It's weird. I get a couple good hits in a row, then the next one is just not right. Hm, have to wait and see I guess.
Tam
I totally agree with mcquinn about the dry burning. I used to do that until I started going through clearomizers (Stardust V2). They probably would've lasted longer had I not gone the dry burning route. Now, I just wash them out and let them dry over night. If you just have the two flavors you switch with, I'd just get two clearomizers, one for each flavor. If you're going to switch with only one clearomizer, I'd recommend using the eGo CC (changeable coil) clearo. It's also called a T2 made by Kangor. Brian, over at The Veteran Vapor sells them at a very reasonable price. These are much easier to clean and the changeable coil is nice. If something happens and it's not working like it should, you just change the coil (unscrew, take off, screw new one on), and it's like having a brand new clearomizer with only a fraction of the cost. If you buy these, then I'd suggest buying some extra coils to have on hand.

I have had this problem on and off with the short wick clearomizers. I have found if I gently tap it or gently blow through the mouth piece every couple draws, it helps to keep from getting that burnt taste.
