Undertakershrug Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 So I've read some news of exploding devices. So I'm a little worried because I don't know anything about batteries or chargers. How do you know if a charger will work for your ecig? More specifically I've got a tornado mega ego-c which has a 1000 mah battery 3.7 volt 3.2v to 4.8v regulated output. And I've got this charger http://www.totallywicked-eliquid.com/products/tornado-ego-c-e-nic/tornado-mega-powered-usb-charger-product.html ... So how do we has consumers know if these work together?
mcquinn Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) I would say since the charger is designed for similar but lower mAh batteries it should be ok.But if you are really concerned you should get a Joye Ego charger .Looks like most of those are of the USB variety and would require an AC adapter if you want to plug in the wall. Most reputable vendors have an email address where you can ask for advice or specifications or compatibity of thier products. Christopher Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012 That is the correct charger. Don't let the mah confuse you. So long as you use an eGo battery with an eGo charger you're good to go. The mah doesn't make a difference in this case. The exploding issue is less with mainstream e cigarettes. It's more of an issue with the custom mods. And on THAT note it's usually because the user is using the incorrect battery inside the mod or charging a battery in the wrong charger. (stand alone batteries) The eGo batteries have protection systems built into them to prevent things like this from happening. That isn't usually the case with standalone batteries. (See picture below) You can use your eGO without fear. (or KGO, Riva etc for that matter)
