Locrian
I'm planning to buy an ecigarette for my girlfriend, in hopes that she'll consider switching. She only smokes cloves (usually Djarum Milds), and I've found a couple sites that sell clove flavored ecigarettes, but I wanted to make sure I know what I'm buying. I really don't know anything about ecigarettes, but I looked over the info for newbies on this site, and I think I know all the parts I need to get. But the main thing that I'm still unclear on is this: How do I know what strength of nicotine I need? The sites I looked at had at least a half dozen different options for the number of mg's of nicotine, and I had no idea which one to pick. I assume it has to do with how heavily the person smokes, right? Well, I've seen my girlfriend smoke a whole pack of Djarum Blacks within a few hours, but I've also seen her go a day or two without smoking at all. Any ideas? I'm assuming I'd want a midrange level of nicotine, whatever that would be. Thanks for your help.
Jeffb
If she can go a day or 2 without a cig then I would suggest 10mg or lower.
Locrian
Thanks Jeff B. I ended up ordering from a place that only offers two nicotine strengths, so I got the lower one. Anyway, I have another question: I also ordered some different e-liquid from a different company, in case she doesn't like the flavor that comes with the e-cig. It said that it was compatible with any e-cig, but it turned that it wasn't a cartridge that I could attach to the e-cig; it just looks like an eyedropper filled with this brownish liquid. Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do with this? Thanks.
Jeffb
You're talking about e-liquid. Its what most of us use rather than pay for pre-filled cartos. Do you have cartomizers or atomizers?
Locrian
Well, I'm not really sure. This is what I bought: http://www.primevapor.com/ez-e-cigarette-kit-75.html Does that answer your question? It's the cheapest starter kit that Primevapor sells. Thanks.
Jeffb
Thats a cartomizer. Here's a vid on how to refill:
Locrian
Cool, thanks.
Locrian
Oh one more thing: The e-cig I bought came with a regular tobacco flavored cartridge, which I know my girlfriend will never use cause she only smokes cloves, so I'm wondering if I could use the technique in this video to fill a cartomizer that isn't empty. Like, could I dump out the old stuff and then fill it up? Or would I have to empty it by just smoking until it's empty?
Jeffb
Clove flavored e-liquid is very strong. I bet you could put a few drops of it in the carto and it would overpower the tobacco.
Locrian
Cool, I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
Locrian
Hi again, I have another question. I gave my girlfriend the e-cig, but so far she isn't sold on the idea. Says it tastes weaker than a real clove cig. But I'm not giving up yet; I ordered some different liquids hoping that one of them will be strong enough for her. I also ordered some blank cartridges so that I could try the different e-liquids. The cartridges just arrived, and they don't fit the e-cig. It said "510" in the product description, which is what I thought I needed, but obviously I have a lot to learn about this stuff. This is what I bought: http://www.litecigusa.net/Joye_510_Blank_Cartridges_p/510blank.htm?1=1&CartID=0 My e-cig is the kind that's in that video link that was posted earlier. It uses a cartridge that screws on, but the cartridges I got don't seem to do that. Could someone please tell me what exactly I should be looking for? I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks! Mike
I'm not sure what kind of threading that e-cig has but why not just get a 5 pack of pre-filled Clove carto's for $11.95 from that same site? That's a good price and I'm sure you can refill them too. There is a YouTube video with a good review of that particular e-cig and he said the clove is great. http://www.primevapo...r-packs-6.html And save the 510 threaded stuff for when you graduate to an eGo. Locrian
Well, I already bought several e-liquids. I want to experiment with combining the e-liquids, and I'd like to start with an empty cartridge. I was just browsing through the different types of cartomizers, and I noticed that they have dual-coil ones. Would these produce a stronger hit? My girlfriend said that what I got her wasn't as strong as a real cig, so I'm looking for something that will be stronger.
kgoallthewaygo
most ecigs that look like real cigs usually have 808 threads... so look for those. imho i never had any luck with the stick batts. thats why i upgraded to the ego and kgo (ego clone) i highly recommend looking into those. Mike
I was also thinking that your e-cig is compatible with 808 carto's but I'm not completely sure. You could take a chance and pick up some blank Volt carto's or any kr808 blank cartos but you shouldn't use anything that is low resistance on a small battery. dadstopsmoking
This was sort an issue for me with buying my dad an ecig so this info was helpful. fortunatetly i got his ecigs from a company called Bull Dog which was referred to me by a friend who had tried it. i say fortunately because they have varying nicotine strengths from high, med, low, and none at all so i guess my dad can choose accordingly if it turns out that he actually like em'
