acseeley
Morning all. New here at the forum and need some advice. My wife & I have been vaping on Lecig D1's for the better part of a year now but they recently discontinued the D1 Vapriot Carto which, well it pissed me off and I am taking my business elsewhere. First question. I am considering upgrading to one of the larger battery style setups that look kinda like the Lecig Pigcig but I am lost in options. I would prefer one I can maintain/clean/fill myself easier than the fiber fill cartos so, from what I have been reading I need to go the atomizer direction (or is there something to be said for cartos still?) . What are your top 2 suggestions for a reliable, not too much dicking around setup? Second question. I already have a PCC and 3 working batteries for the D1 and my wife won't smoke a cigar looking big battery. I have been looking at Bloog & Volt for direct replacements that will work out of the box with my existing Cartos/batteries. I believe all advice goes toward manual over the automatic style, but are there any other brands I should consider? I appreciate the help. BirdDog
Welcome to the forum. The Lecig models use the kr808 cartomizers. They are available pre-filled or blanks that you fill on your own. But you probably already knew that. If you are wanting to go the atomizer route I suggest moving into a 510 set up. The kits or batteries that would be equal to the Pigcig would be the Joye eGo. You can also use 510 Boge cartomizers. When I started vaping the only kits available on the market were the 510, 901 and 801 kits with atomizers. It is best to direct drip when using an atomizer. A direct drip is 2-3 drops of liquid directly on the atomizer, this will need to be repeated about every 7-10 draws. This will give you better flavor and vapor. I don't suggest using the cartridges with an atomizer. You will end up with dry hits and less flavor. Also, pick up a drip tip! They are even nice to use with a cartomizer. I use mostly cartomizers now, it doesn't take much to fill it up and then continue to top them off. Hope this helps you out a bit. Good luck. jenkinsmark01
Hi acseeley, I would like to agree with Birddog's suggestion..! I don't suggest using cartys with attys, cartos have way more hit and flavor compared to the 3pc set! Also, an eGo setup would be a nice alternative to the current setup you have. In fact, I'm waiting for the eGo-C twist I ordered now. Still, we're just here to advice and the final decision is yours! GL! mcquinn
If they indeed are compatble with KR808's you should just be able to get some DSE 901 atties and use them on your batteries.Very good dripping atty but they do need to blown out occasionally or they will leak. The Empire drip sheild is supposed to help with that but I haven't tried one yet.I used DSE 801 pennstyles for over a year but finally decided it was more cost effective to go with 14500 box mods, you can get two 14500 900mAh batteries for the cost of one stock battery . Yeah I know all about refilling the kr808's and I need to keep my wife off the analogs so I have to find a kr808 to transition seamlessly to for her, she won't do the tank type because she says it is too big and looks like a cigar. She doesn't know anything about Ecigs but how to smoke what I put in front of her, so I gotta keep mamma happy with what she knows. I believe Bloog and Volt cartos are the kr808 style, correct? Basically need to find the best tasting ones for the price that I can refill a few times before they are shot. Any suggestions on that style? For me, I took a look at the Joye Ego and it looks nice, not too big and bulky. I would love to get rid of the fiber fill (which I tend to overfill, though I have gotten better) and just fill up a tank and go. You say that you are using cartomizers, Is that a convinience thing or a taste thing? Does anyone else have any suggestions similar to the Joye eGo? I am mostly concerned with size, it doesn't have to be the same type and performance and will take any suggestions you got! Thanks for the tip on the box mods. That looks like something I could use at home, but my vanity would prevent me from taking it out at work/bars/parties. Hell, I fix Xray equipment for a living, I am tempted to disassemble an old battery and find an interesting enclosure to do my own box mod just for grins. Brian
You may want to shop around for the prefilled KR808s. In addition to what you mentioned, Vapor4Life.com has a very large selection of flavors for the prefilled cartos. Myvaporstore.com also has prefilled cartos. I'm sure there are more. The eGo and the Pigcigs should be about the same size, so if the eGo looks to big, the Pigcig will too. A bigger ecig is the trade off for better battery life. LeCig primarily carries KR808-D1 ecigs. Don't they have a suitable replacement for the D1 Vapriot? I would think if they are discontinuing it they would have something just as good or better to replace it? Or is it just the flavors that are being discontinued?
acseeley
Maybe I just got a bad batch of several boxes, but their regular Lecig D1 cartos were disgusting. They have a different fiber fill than the Vapriot and it tasted like plastic to me. Tried topping off with a bit of juice, but no luck. I'm just ready to find a dependable supplier with decent cartos to buy prefilled and refill a few times that isn't going to change things 6 months down the road. BirdDog
When I stepped up to the Ego from the small stick batteries I was expecting the batteries to be really large. I was surprised when I opened the package. lol They were really small compared to what I was expecting. I didn't really mind or notice the larger size. It was still comfortable to hold in my hand and conceal if needed. Now some of the eGo batteries are a bit longer, like the pass thru battery. But still pretty small when you compare the size with larger battery mods and the box mods. I started and continue to use the 510 cartomizers for convenience and flavor. It is much easier to deal with while driving, at work and out in public. I am not having to drip every few minutes, which can look a bit strange to people that are unfamiliar with ecigs. I did try the original eGo tanks and I am on the fence about them. It seemed to use more liquid than the cartomizer. I have not tried the eGo C tanks. But I hear they are a much better upgrade to the original design. As for your question in regards to the Bloog or Volt, I don't know that answer. Just ordered a few boxes of Cartos from Vapor4life for the wife. Now pricing the eGo C to see where I can find the best deal. I appreciate all your help... If anyone knows the best place to buy and catches me in the next few hours, I would love to hear it. Edited July 6, 2012 by acseeley
acseeley
Just ordered at Altsmoke.com. $61 and change with the firstorder discount. If it isn't the best price, it has to be close.
