Dont Know Much About Pairing Batteries To Mods, Need Some Help/info On A 5V Mod

I been vaping 3.7v with low resistance stuff most of the time, and was looking into trying a 5V mod. I found a 5V box mod on madvapes, which says to pair it with 2x 14500 batteries, im guessing two 14500 Li-Ions, which are the rechargeable im guessing. These two batteries in this mod will give me a 5V mod as advertise correct? And the 14500 batteries i see on the site are 900mah, i just dont get the whole # thing, im wondering what the number 14500 refers to just to make sure i buy the correct batteries, ive been reading up a bit on them but I am still confused, there are complaints about some 14500 batteries not working well in the 5v mod or not working at all.

The numbers refer to the battery's diameter & length in mm. A 14500 batt has a diameter of 14mm, a length of 50mm & the last "0" indicates its round. :) The 5V PV you talk about either has a booster chip which bumps the 3.7 V up to 5 or it has a regulator which bumps the 7.4V down to 5. Im not sure how that mod works.

oh ok yeah thats where i was confused, how they got the 5volts. it uses two batteries so im guessing it bumps the 7.4 of the 2x3.7 down to 5. thanks for the info, i spent a while trying to think of equations of how 3.7 and 2x would equal 5 which made no sense to me at all, now that I think of it, i read a thread on here specifically explaining batteries and what the 14500 meant but didnt take much to it since i was just starting. I forget where it was.
