vaporchick
Hey guys you probably dont remember me but I certainly havent forgotten you. Ive just been going through some difficult times with coming off a medication that has litterally sent me into being antisocial and misserable. Most of you know I'm a recovering addict and was off pills for 7 years. Well suboxone was my cruchy during that time and I decided it was time to move on. Today is day 8 and Im still in hell but I know I can do it. Ok enough about me. My Grandma loves her ecig but she cant keep from puffing so hard and blows it every time. It doesn't matter hyow many times I remind her she cant remember to to the dementia. I wish I could get my best friend back but its breaking my heart. Any advice on a ecig or cartomizer that might work well? we have tried ego brand batteries and the matching carts, 510 carts, boge lr and reg and I cant remember some others. Sometimes i think vaping is all she has for her hobbie and want so baddly for her to never have to puff on that nasty burn smell again. As you know the cost is pretty expensive going through a carto sometimes in a day and it's so frustraiting because no matter who often I shyow her how or what to do she forgets 3 min later if that. it's just breaking my heart to see my only best friend losing herself and I want to make her enjoy the one thing she loves. Oh and one more thing I use pink spot 12 mg for juice but told my grandfather maybe she needs a stroniger dose for the throat hit. He is iffy oh it cause her doc said the nicotine is bad for her heart and wanted her on the lowest. he is open for opinions and knows doctors are always anti ecig so if you guys could help us find some hope i'd be forever grateful! Uma
Merry Christmas to you too! Sorry to hear you had problems, but it is great hearing that you're getting past them and moving forward! Kudos!! I would not increase the nic mg. You can increase TH in other ways. I'll let the diy folks fill you in on that. As to draining a carto... personally, I can go through a miminum of 5 boge or volt style cartos a day and I refill every night. The only type of carto that I don't have to constantly refill is the EMDCC, but I do have to top it off often for some dumb reason. Hopefully others will have an idea on how to fix that wee problem. The only way to avoid draining the carto is to perhaps purchase a Reo Grand. I have one and absolutely love it. I change the battery once a day, and the juice bottle every other day or so. It just keeps going and going... and it's the perfect Direct Drip machine, it never ever gets messy. But it is cold in the hands at first. But, knowing Grandma, she prolly has her nice robe with pockets to set it in and warm it up nicely before using. I use the LR attys but a lot of Reo owners love the Resserectors from CrystalClearVaping. You can also use the Boge CARTOS, and they'll stay moist with the Reo. Good luck to you and your family! mcquinn
Welcome back.Sounds like you have the want to ,so I beleave you can overcome .Unfortunately toppin goff is part of vaping. The tanks would be a more daunting process though they would last longer between refills. If there is someone who could fill the tanks for her that might be the way to go.A carto should last several days with refilling every so often.Another option if there is someone to refill the for her is just fill several refillable cartos and all she has to do is change out and save the empites for the refill buddy to take care of. JayH503
As Uma said, the EMDCC (eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer) would help. They hold more e Juice, so less top off filling. I use them on my eGo batteries and my KGO batteries. They fit well and last longer between top offs. Merry Christmas to you, Grand Mother and the rest of your family! bobthesalesclerk
Good for you on getting off pills. I have been struggling with addiction for over 10 years now and am currently on suboxone. It's rough...really really rough. Just because I made some realllllly dumb choices when I was a teenager I now have to pay for that in my adult life. I applaud anyone who is willing to get off the stuff because it's not easy.
bass-n-vape
glad to hear you're kicking the stuff! but imho i would maybe try the lr ego tank system.....they're a little leaky but you can clearly see how much liquid is left in the tank and see when it's time for a refill. just my two cents lol
dragaa
I don't know how often you can visit her..but here's my idea. With my ego C (would recommend for the solved leaking issues and longer battery life) kit came 5 tank cartridges. They are topped with these rubber ends lots of people throw away. You could fill them all with any nic content mostly PG try 80/20 pg to vg ratio. Fill all 5 cartridges and recap them with those rubber caps which for me have worked great for containing the juice (much to my surprise). The PG will give her a nice throat hit, and depending on how much she vapes all 5 tanks could last 5 days. Invest an extra 10 bucks in your order and you could have 9 to 10 days of prefilled, ready to go tanks. She'd just have to pull the tank out, give it a little wipe down with a Kleenex, and pop the next one in and go. My batteries last a full day and into the next. Investing in the extra 5 tanks could save a ton of hassle.
dragaa
Ooh and of course merry Christmas. Stay vigilant and strong on your addiction. It can be done and you're already past the hardest part. I feel like a lot of peoples problems have to do with boredom and finding things to do to keep you occupied. Godspeed.
maverick
Perhaps premature for calling it typical.......but Joye seems to run the Type B cylinder (2.5ml capacity) about a month after the Type A (1.0ml) Would not recommend the new C atty Type A as it holds around 1ml of juice. Would think Joye will release the 2.5ml capacity for the new C atty in the next few weeks. If so, this would seem the ticket for the OP scenario. Low maintenance and juice a plenty. Possible...... Uma
Haha do I know gnaw or what Another thing just crossed my mind. The EMDCCd are huge and really easy for half blind or shaky handed people to refill. Hope your research is going smooth.
DAYVAPE
Another vote for the EMDCC's here ! And, UMA, I still have to top off several times a day with those also... I think that's just part of using cartos though. Which is no big deal for as well as they perform! By the way 'vaporchick'... I also say 'congrats' on quitting the pills. I totally know where you are coming from when talking about this. Unfortunately for me, I have major back problems (L5-S1 protrusion, lumbar stenosis, degenerative spurring at facet joints, etc.) that require me to take meds to be able to lead a somewhat, half-assed productive life. And I have seen 3 different specialists for the problem... and they each gave me a different opinion on the surgical procedure to fix it! (I would much rather them all agree on ONE surgery!) And even then there is no guarantee that I will be pain free or fixed. The thing that worries me the most is that I've not met anyone that had 1 surgery and was done... it always ended up being multiple attempts! Often times the doctor will say he's going to 'fix what the last one did wrong!' I don't want to fall into that category like everyone else seems too. Keep your head up... and keep fighting the good fight ! Edited December 30, 2011 by DAYVAPE
