Christopher Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 So true lol At least people are finally getting pissed and doing something about it. They just have no direction whatsoever.
xgregx Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 They are "creating" jobs...................someone has to clean up their trash, and the HazMat team has to remove their "other" remains
Jeffb Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 I believe they need to occupy a big white house on Pennsylvania
xgregx Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Maybe they could occupy a port-a-potty instead of someone's doorsteps.
Jeffb Posted October 27, 2011 Author Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Many have asked what "COST" means on this chart... it's the cost to the host cities via extra police, cleanup, etc. You can GOOGLE and find many supporting articles, but here are just some: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2047709/Occupy-Wall-Street-protests-cost-NYPD-1-9million-overtime-pay-cops.html http://video.foxnews.com/v/1213192087001/arrests-mount-as-occupy-wall-street-protests-continue/ http://cleveland.cbslocal.com/2011/10/18/occupy-cleveland-protester-alleges-she-was-raped/ But again, feel free to research for yourself... the information is out there. Looks about right. One other fact is numbers. In my city there are around 4-10 "occupiers". The first Tea Party rally in my city had 3-4 thousand people.

I wonder if Obama will somehow take credit for creating all these new jobs...
mcquinn Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 I need for Wall Street to do good so I can retire one day.If it just goes back where it was five years ago I will more than double my nestegg.
Christopher Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 It's scary how many of these protesters want socialism.
Christopher Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I agree It took some pretty big balls to head down there.

Yea, did you see all of those violent protesters at UC Davis? Sitting on the ground with their arms locked, threatening the police? Thank GOD that the police, in their riot gear, were there to protect all of us law abiding citizens from these troublemakers and pepper sprayed them! Fact: The top 10% in this country control 83% of the wealth in this country, but only pay 45% of the taxes Fact: CEO pay has gone from 42:1 compared to factory workers, in 1960 to 344:1 in 2007 Fact: From 1990 to 2007, CEO pay has risen nearly 300% while worker pay has risen 4.3%! that's FOUR POINT THREE percent! "The widely reported figure showed that one out of two Americans are in poverty or are low-income. Other Census figures put the figure closer to one out of three Americans" Hahahahaha....that's Soooo funny! If you're not among the top 10% in this country, and you think Occupy Wallstreet is a big joke, the Koch Brothers, Trump and plenty of other billionaires want to thank you! By the way... have you seen ONE OWS person carrying a gun in any of the demonstrations? If you have, care to post a photo of it? Cause I can show you tons of Tea Party protesters not only carrying guns, but signs talking about "watering the tree of liberty with blood" or some such nonsense..... So why are there so many arrests of OWS, with so little display of ANY violence? Couldn't be because those in power don't want the middle class to disrupt the status quo, could it? Watch the videos of the UC Davis students SITTING on the ground, threatening NOONE... and yet military grade pepper spray is used on our kids by campus police, because they are exercising their constitutional RIGHT to protest ON THEIR CAMPUS??? And some of you geniuses think this is funny?? Most of the posts above make me sick. Thank god SOME people are waking up and at least trying to take this country back, because the way it's been going, were going to have to climb across the boarder to find jobs in Mexico soon.

The first Tea Party rally in my city had 3-4 thousand people. The first post above says there have been 2,511 arrests of Occupy Wallstreet protesters, but in your city there were only around 4-10 "occupiers".... Interesting. I love it when people provide "facts".... and I see you're from Washington. "The first Tea Party rally in my city had 3-4 thousand people"... now why do I have the feeling you were among them? Jeffb Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 I think OWS & the Tea Party have a lot in common: The Tea Party is better organized, has a clear message and focused their efforts where change can take place, that is getting involved in politics and getting elected. The OWS may have some valid concerns but they get lost in all the drama.
Jeffb Posted December 17, 2011 Author Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) Fact: The top 10% in this country control 83% of the wealth in this country, but only pay 45% of the taxes So the top 10% are paying almost 50% of the tax burden? That doesn't seem fair. Fact: CEO pay has gone from 42:1 compared to factory workers, in 1960 to 344:1 in 2007 I don't care what the private sector pays their CEO's or what actors make or what athletes make. Fact: From 1990 to 2007, CEO pay has risen nearly 300% while worker pay has risen 4.3%! that's FOUR POINT THREE percent! Again not an issue for me. Good for the CEO's Edited December 17, 2011 by jeffb nana 1

Yes, 4-10 OWS in my city, and yes 3-4 thousand at the first TP event, yes this is a fact. Would you like pictures? And yes I was at the first TP rally, so were most of the people who are now the local OWS, what is your point?
