FTJoe
I could have continued this in another thread but thought it best to start a new one, apologies if this is frowned upon. I want to try a starter kit for either a Janty or 801. I currently have the 510, in fact I have more batteries and atomizers coming but wanted to try something new as well. I've read the other two threads on the subject and I'm curious how much better/different they are (janty and 801). I'll take any opinions on which is better, but my real question is are all the Jantys the same or is there a difference between the Dura, Kissbox, etc. I was leaning towards the Dura but that doesn't seem to be available in the places I've looked. Wondering if the kissbox just simply replaced it?
Christopher
Well there Janty Dura IS a 510 It just has more chrome and a longer warranty. As for whether or not an 801 or Janty Stick would be better it's also the same thing. The Janty Stick uses an 801 atomizer inside. There are also adapters available so you can use other atomizers with it such as the 510 atomizer. So which one is better? Well I'd say go with the Janty Stick. Why? because of the versatility and battery life. I'm also glad you created a new post it makes it easier for us to keep track of everything and keep threads on topic. FTJoe
Thanx for the feedback, Guess it would have been stupid to buy a Dura. ;-) I was confused because on Dietsmokes I didn't readily see the stick but I didn't realize I had to page forward. Looks like the batteries are pretty available as well in case I want to get a few to keep charged. If I pick one up I'll post my thoughts here. Thanx again. FTJoe
I ordered the Janty Stick mostly for the battery life. Now I have the never ending "list" of questions: 1) 801 carts, right? 2) Batteries are listed as 360mah. I assume if they are 10440 I can get the 500mah on dealextreme? Any other recs to pick up batteries? 3) Should I try a different atomizor? Anyone have a rec on that? I see lots of folks using the 901 but I guess I would need an adapter. Not sure you would have to speak with Janty but I don't see why not if it's the same size. 3) Should I try a different atomizor? Anyone have a rec on that? FTJoe
Thanx for the info, I'll contact Janty in regards to the batteries...
FTJoe
Janty says they don't know if the 500mah batteries will work. Should be no problem but now I have to think about it. I got the Janty stick, it is cool, still going strong way after my 501 would have quit. Maybe I don't need the higher capacity battery? I have to say it's tough to direct drip but I'm using the supplied cartridge and dripping/topping off. Unfortunately the supplied were RY4 so even though I got most of the fluid out and replaced with menthol, still a weird taste. It also seems like I need to puff a few times, then long slow pull to get good vapor. Loving it so far. Better for on the go in my opinion than the 510. Still struggling with how I'm going to travel. Have all my bags and cases, working through it. But that's another thread of mine I will update.
Christopher
Yea the Janyt Stick always needs a primer puff to get it going. And long drags work better with the Janty Stick

And long drags work better with the Janty Stick This thing is awesome. So I guess my 510 (7 attys and 5 batts) will be a backup or for the wife to take out when she's tipping a few. Went most of the day and I'm charging it which means I don't know yet how long the battery will last for me.
Christopher
I've never actually timed it, but it's at least a good 4 hours.
the26thdoctor
2) Batteries are listed as 360mah. I assume if they are 10440 I can get the 500mah on dealextreme? Any other recs to pick up batteries? Vaprlife explained the differences in battery mAh-types really well. Basically, the differences between the two is really a question of the length of time you get out of the battery before it needs a recharge... An 801 atty has a resistance of about 3 Ohms and they draw about 1.4 Amps (1400mA) in current. For a 360mAh battery, 360/1400 = 0.26 hours of battery life (if the button was being continually depressed). For a 500mAh battery, you'd get 500/1400 =0.36 hours of battery life before the battery would need recharging. If you are taking 5 second draws then: For a 360mAh battery; you get 187 5-second hits before a battery recharge is needed For a 500mAh battery; you get 259 5-second hits "ditto as above" I hope that helps? Cheers J
FTJoe
Thanx - that was my thought process that as long as the voltage is right, I should get a longer time before recharging.
