AlamedaVapor Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 Just looking for a good recommendation for a variable volt tube mod that is not a Provari or box mod. Any Suggestions??? thanks for your time!!!
Brian Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Yep - Buzz is good. The newer "Pro" line of the Buzz is due out soon. You can also pick up a blemished Infinity pretty cheap. http://www.notcigs.com/ The Saber Touch is nice. http://vapormoon.com/Shopping.html Vaprlife has some nice 5V and vv mods: http://www.vaprlife.com/5-volt-cigs/
mcquinn Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I think the variable voltage is a gimmick and another thing to go wrong. You will likely either end up leaving at something near 4 or 5 volts and not messing with it after a short time.It is a pain trying to set the voltage under load .I would say get either a 3.7 or 5 volt with a mechanical switch.

Now that it's convenient (Provari), I change voltage quite often. I typically start my day with an eGo-T atty at 4.1V for my drive to work. Later in the morning I'll switch to a 510 atty and bump it up to 4.9V. Sometime I don't need 4.9V and will go with 4.4V unless I get stressed. For the drive home I'm back to the tank at 4.1V. Whenever I put on a new atty I start at 3.7V to break it in for a bit before going to higher volts. I've got some 3.0ohm clearomizers to try and suspect I'll use 5+V for those. I never did this with the Joker because it was a pain to change the voltage, so yes, it stayed at 4.9V.
