Drinking And Vaping

I've been vaping for about 2 weeks now and it's going pretty well. I haven't completely given up my analogs yet but I'm trying. I've only smoked about a pack over the past 2 weeks so it's a major victory as far as I'm concerned. I don't chain vape but when I feel like I need a cigarette I'll just have a few puffs and go about my business. The hardest times are after meals but a few extra puffs from my riva and the craving subsides. Even still, an analog at the end of the night is hard to pass up and I usually find myself giving into my temptation. I'm fine with this for now as I still see the drastic cut back in smoking as a huge step in the right direction. The problem I'm having is at social events when everyone is drinking. I bring my pv along with me with good intentions but once I get a few drinks in me the cravings for analogs skyrocket and no amount of vapor will get my mind off of an analog.

I'm just wondering what some of you have done to get past this difficult transition period. I wish I could just lock myself in my room to avoid the social aspect of smoking but I'm a social person and like to go out and am around smokers and alcohol pretty regularly. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I knew it would be very hard to stay off analogs if I didn't decide to just vape 100% vs. mix the two. The first few days were a bit tough- but you vape through it. I've tried a drag off of a cig figuring I would like it- and it was horrid. Never thought I would say that- even after I quit I figured a cig would taste ok. My advice is to drop the cigs and use your PV for your nic needs. It will get easier quickly. Even when having drinks, my PV does its job and I haven't looked back.

While a lot of people do it, I think juggling both vaping and cigs makes it difficult for your cig cravings to subside. Vape through those cravings and it all gets easier. ...that's just my two cents.

Oh- and get juice you like with enough nic.

Congrats an making it this far !!!!

Alot of people struggle with those last few cigarettes, especially when out with friends that smoke.

continuing to vape through the cravings does help some. another option is bit higher nicotine liquid for those difficult times.

beyond that, relax and vape. If you need a smoke...smoke. The more pressure you put on yourself the worse the anxiety and cravings become worse.

Over time, vaping will completely replace smoking.

i think kitsume hit on a really good point, if you over-pressure yourself, the mental and physical consequences of anxiety could be worse for you than the couple cigarettes you'll have in a social situation. the fact that you made a pack of analogs last 2 weeks is quite an accomplishment, and if you have a bad day and smoke more than you vape, well that's ok too imo. the trick i use when i really want an analog is to immediately reach for the vape and take at least 2 good puffs before i light up an analog, if i still feel like an analog, i'll have one. also, pick your favorite juice and get a small bottle of a higher nicotine version and have a dedicated atty or carto for just that, and when the craving really strikes, hit it hard, this has worked very well for me so far, but there are still times when nothing but an analog will do, but the good news is that it's happening less and less over time.

Congratulations! Before I started vaping, my analogs were Ultra Light cowboys. Started using 24mg juice (tobacco/fruity flavor). This did the trick. Kept using it for 2-3 days. On the 4th day ran out of juice at work, so I reached for an analog until I could get home. The first puff I was about to gag. It was so weak and nasty tasting. I am down to 8mg now and never looked back. Think the 24mg was the trick to finally getting off the analogs. But be careful, that is a lot of nicotine.
