jayson_m Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I recently bought an Elektro brand electronic cigarette and am taking a trip to Europe. I don't need my cig on the airplane, so I was wondering if I am allowed to put it in my checked bag. I'm flying Air Canada and it says on the site that ionizers are prohibited, but it does say that e-cigarettes are approved as long as you're not using them. I'm not worried about damage to/losing my luggage.
Christopher Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 They are perfectly legal to carry in your checked in baggage. I would suggest removing your atomizer from the battery before storing. Other than that, you're good to go I travel often and I've never had a problem. Your baggage will be fine. (To put it into perspective, I check in my 9mm when I travel)
Brian Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I think the rules actually say to carry on any lithium ion batteries, but I could be mistaken.
