Hi all, I've been vaping for 1 and a half weeks now. I used to smoke a pack a day, marlboro lights, for about 30 years. The first week I still smoked analogs but one pack lasted the whole week. I bought the joye 510 kit with some cartomizers and a passthrough. The e-juice is 50/50 pg/vg at 18 mg nic. I like the atty and cart with the 510, the cartomizer doesnt seem to have enough resistsance with the 510, I am using them on the passthrough now. The 510 is lasting all day and I add drops of juice to the cart a few times a day. So, I would say I dont vape a whole lot.

I went through (and still am somewhat) a lot of nervousness at work, the first week was very tough. At home, it's not so bad.

I am getting some dry throat, but I always drink lots of water, and am sucking on lifesavers when it gets too dry, that helps a lot.

This week I'm getting some stomach irritation, when i vape, similar to a mild stomach virus feeling. I would quit vaping for a few hours and just smoke an analog, the irritation would go away. Then come back when I start vaping again.

I am wondering if it's the pg making me feel that way or the level of nic? I plan on getting some juice with lower nic, and vg only, and try that. I dont want to go back to analogs, after just a week and a half, I can breathe better, and dont cough up stuff nearly as much.

Any of you veteran vapers been through this? Or have suggestions?

I woulda put this post in the other forum section, but i don't have enough posts yet.

It could be the nic that is causing the upset stomach. The other night I got juiced and swallowed some liquid and had some stomach burning problems. This also used to happen to me when I smoked, on occasion I would accidentally swallow smoke because of a cough or improper inhale.

It might possibly be the PG, did you get juice with a blend or all PG. When I first started vaping, I had an upset stomach and switched to a liquid with a blend in it, I think it was my body getting used to the PG.

Good luck to you

the stomach thing is likely your body reacting to the change, i get the same thing, but it's going away now. the dry throat thing happens more with some juices than others, but it seems to be more related to the flavoring than the mix of pg/vg. i'd try 100%vg, but buy a small amount, to me, most pure vg liquid tastes like tree bark, and pure pg juices taste just plain bad. blends work best for me, 50/50 is my personal sweet spot, not too much of either. also, and this is just my experience, chinese juices have an aweful taste, regardless of the mix or flavor, i switched to u.s.-made juices exclusively, and i'm much happier with the flavor.

as for strength, i'd pick a flavor you like, and get strengths from around 8mg to 18mg, and see what works best, also keep in mind that more intense flavors make the whole juice "feel" stronger, for example, anything with vanilla or caramel in it, i have to get at a lower nic level.

It gets easier eventually, once you figure out what works for you. we all have different tastebuds and chemical balances, so what works for one person probably won't work for another.

The juice I have now is 50/50 US blend. I'm thinking the 2 menthol flavors I have may be worse on my stomach, dont know for sure. I really like the Ginsing flavor best of the 6 I've tried so far. I may try some mint flav next. The stomach irritation, I've felt with trying nic lozenges a few years ago, that was way too much nic for me.

Welcome! It could be the nic level, but like Jon said, it could be the change...the withdrawal from the analogs. Lots of people have gone through a lot of "crap" from quitting and it could be that. You're removing a lot of those chemicals from your system. It might take a little bit of time, but you'll be feeling a whole lot better in no time.
