Liquid Nicotine

I know the e-juice are all made with liquid nicotine, and that I can buy it myself to make my own e-juice. But what is the liquid? Is it just water with nicotine in it? I mean how do they do that? or, is it in something else...like vg?

Ohhh I think I get it. They make the nicotine in the PG or VG base. The liquid nicotine, that is like 36mg nicotine in a vg base or pg base already. I have seen up to 100mg of nicotine being sold...with cautions all over it...is that what one would buy and then buy their own vg locally for example and add to it?

What mg do you vape? For safety, I wouldn't go with 100mg for routine mixing. If you do go with 100mg, I'd mix it all down to 48 or 36 in one sitting and be done with it. I vape 24mg and mix with 48mg. It makes for easy mixing. In a 10ml bottle I will always use 5ml of nic.

I second Brian--You may not want to start mixing with 100mg/ml--really is pretty toxic. For me I vape 18mg, so I usually mix with 36mg. so much easier to 1/2 the amount. I also have some 100mg/ml--but mix with it using extreme caution as nicotine is absorbed through the skin.

i.e.:

5ml of 36 mg flavored or unflavored, PG or VG base

3 ml of flavoring (I like strong flavor)

2ml of PG or VG (without nicotine)

Total = 18mg of whatever flavor I am making.

The same principle applies when using flavored liquids. I will often buy 36-48mg of flavored liquid, dilute it and add additional flavoring.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the formula. I have no intention of using nicotine any higher than 36-48 to start as I vape about 18-24 depending upon whats on hand. I really appreciate the support and knowledge.

Once you get the hang of DIY, it really isn't too hard. Just some trial and error finding the flavors you like best.

I actually find mixing fun--I love all the flavor combinations. If I get tired of a flavor, I can change it or spice it up a bit.
