hurrycaine3000
From looking around, I can tell that neither of these two e-cigs may be very popular here, but I figured I'd check in for some advice. I just switched from analog cigs to e-cigs, and am wondering about these e-cigs. I started with a mall type disposable made by a company called Q-Cigs, I think. it was less than perfect, but did open the door. I then purchased a Blu cig starter kit. this was better but still lacking. I now purchased the Safe cig and have had it for two days. Now we're getting warmer. literally the smoke is warmer, and tastes and feels more like a cigarette, but the size kind of bothers me. I am used to the way a cigarette feels, and want my e-cig to look and feel as close to a real cig as possible. I'm thinking about getting the Green smoke starter kit. I am definetly sending back the Blu cig, and still have plenty of time for the safe cigs thirty day return, but am wondering if anyone has any experience with the last two. the Safe cig, and the Green Smoke. I understand that the Green smoke is thinner, more like a real cig, but want to make sure that the flavor and vapor are atleast as good as the safe cig, and hopefully better. thanks to anyone who has any thoughts. BirdDog
Welcome to the forum. I think you will find the Green Smoke to be just like the kits you have purchased so far. There have been many members on this forum that started out where you are. They wanted something that looked and felt like a real cigarette. After much frustration most of them ended up buying the Ego kit. My only suggestion, other than the Ego, is to get the Joye 510 kit. Really not much bigger than a regular cigarette but a very dependable model. I think you can get a 510 with the automatic battery, but the manual button is much better. The manual button allows you longer draws and it won't set off in your pocket. You can also get a personal charging case (pcc) to carry with you. mcquinn
I agree with BD you will not beleive how much better the Joyes are and there are lotsa places to buy parts from .Will be way more cost effective.Refillable carto's are another money saver. TroopX
Greensmoke is horribly overpriced, proprietary carts that taste awful IMO. RUN!

fran1959
Unfortunately I have never read anything good about greencigs. 510 is almost the size of a cig, but the batteries don't last that long. If you decide to go that route make sure you buy a few extra batteries and a PCC, so you can charge them while on the go. KR808 may be another option if you want something small, the batteries last longer
turtle11c
looks were very important when i started so I got a 510 but quickly got over that and moved on to an ego due to battery life. I have a ego passthrough I picked up for $16 and it last me from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed (which is anywhere from 12 to 3am). I would actually say that the ego has the feel of a black and mild in my hand if I had to compare it to a analog form of tobacco which really isnt that bad and you get over the look of it the first day you use it and realize you dont have to charge it at all through out the day. Also thought it would be important to add that the ego is just a bigger battery for the 510. All the other parts it uses are the same unless you get the tank kit. mwsmith1778
I personally haven't ever tried either device, so I can't say anything good or bad about them. I know many of my fellow forum members started out with one or the other and weren't very satisfied with the results. Most people on the forum will recommend the Joye Ego, and for good reason. For the dollar, it's about the best on the market. If you're really looking for something that is more the size of a true cigarette, the Joye 510 may be a good option, but you'll want to stock up on batteries because each one only lasts about an hour or two on a charge (depending on usage). The Ego gets about 8-12 hours on a charge and is a very reliable device. If you choose to go with the 510, I would also recommend the manual battery. That widens your horizons to a whole new world of direct dripping options, rather than just relying on carts or cartomizers. Best of luck and welcome to the forum! Dishona
My Green Smoke was a good starter e-cig, but the cartridges are not refillable - believe me, I have tried everything. I gave up after a couple of weeks and just ordered the Ego like everyone else and if I had done that in the beginning, I would have saved a couple of hundred. I still use my Green Smoke when I'm in a real hurry to get out of the house and just want to throw something in my pocket - especially since I can't return mine as I'm past the 30 days and I ordered some extra cartridges anyway. I guess it depends on your taste buds and your wallet - but I needed a good tasting e-cig to keep me away from the tobacco - now I'm going on three months without cigaretts. I just tell people that vaping is my new hobby. From looking around, I can tell that neither of these two e-cigs may be very popular here, but I figured I'd check in for some advice. cheshyl
Welcome to the forum. Now my 2 cents. I think that once you are charging your batteries all the time you will take another look at finding an e-cig that looks like an analog. You will want something with greater battery life. That being said, you couldn't ask for a better pv than an eGo. Has a charge life of from 4 to 8 hours, depending on what size battery you get. I vape all the time, never without the eGo close by. A charge lasts me about 6 hours. Now remember, that is with constant vaping. I think that you would not even notice the size of the eGo after a couple of days. Good luck with your vaping journey. Here was my dilemma, i started out with the ego after a lot of looking around the forums, but i wanted an e-cig that looked lke a real cig just to take out when i go somewhere and the only one ive used is from totally wicked it almost has the same amount of vapor and throat hit as my ego but that also has to do with juices as well its called totally wicked white super e-cig and its fairly cheap for the kit
johns
Did the Green Smoke thing, way over priced Moved on to the eGo. Bliss
Beans
I waisted $350 on green Smoke. It did the trick for the first week until I found the eGo. I'll tell you right now that I would never hit 100 days smoke free with it. It is a terrible product, and the batts only lasted 3 weeks till they were simply dead. Also the cartos are so over priced that I would have spent at least 150 a week on refills. This is just my experience. Good luck

hurrycaine3000
thanks everyone for all the help, I am definetly looking into an ego, or 901 now, but am still looking for something realistic to take to the bar, or on smoke breaks at work. I don't think, at this point, i will stick with quitting the analogs unless I have something that doesn't attract all of the attention when out and about. I was looking at the intellicig, but not much in the way of reviews there. if anyone has any thoughts on this, please let me know. thanks again for all of your replies, I can tell I'm going to like this forum. cheshyl
Grimm Green has a youtube video of the Maxx Fusion. He likes the performance of this model. He says he likes to take it to the casinos and such because it does feel like a realy cigarette. He also said that it is the same size as a KR808. The Fusion is an expensive kit if you want 2 batteries and two are definately needed. That kit costs around $100. If you have to have an e-cig that looks and feels like a real cig look at his video and then maybe you can make a decision. I of course would stick with the eGo better battery life and it's a sleek looking pv, especially with the cone or a tank atty. It's a battery workhorse compared to a small battery, you get from about 4 to 6 hours with the smaller batter, if you aren't a heavy vaper. The Fusion comes with pre-filled cartos I think. Just take a look at his video and I said before you might just want to go with the Fusion and an eGo and I bet you will choose the eGo all the time after the initial I want a realy lloking e-cig. They will never feel or look like a real cigarette but I think that you will come close if you have your heart set on the e-cig looking pv. Good luck in your search. Just my opinion of course. hurrycaine3000
I just wanted to give some feedback feedback. Ivfound a place up the street at a local flea market that actually has a really nice selection of e Cigs and such. The Guy there was really helpful in explaining all of his products and had some really good prices. Yes they are better online, but there isn't much in the way of demonstrations, and hands on experience. So I picked up a 510 manual tank unit and put it to the test against my Blu cig, and safe cig. He also threw in a cartomizer so that I could really campare. I refilled the Blu and the safe cig's carts with Hilton e juice, as well as the 510 so there would be no favorites, and here's what I found. Wow the 510 kills it on vapor. Though the safe cig comes close, the manual switch on the 510 just lets me keep going and going. The Blu cig gets close sometimes, but just isn't consistant. The real draw back with the safe cig comes down to compatability, and price. Yes I can refill the carts, but forget about slapping on an ego battery and just puffing away. (Gonna pick one up next week, incidentally it has a pass through built in so you can puff and charge. NICE.) And for 150 bucks compared to 60 and local customer service, there is no comparison. Needless to say ill be trying to send back both the blu cig, and the safe cig for a refund. I ordered a dse 084 off of Amazon just for when I go out, it was cheaper than both the others, and wont be such a pain to fill, but my new toy of choice is definetly the 510, and thanks to the market being 2 minutes from my house, ill have plenty of new toys to choose from. Thanks everyone for all the help. You guys were right. This thing rocks. I don't think its a joye, he had those for more $, but it is worth what I payed and as you guys know, I can upgrade it piece by piece later. I'd say the only downfall is that I've been vaping constantly since I got it. If that's a downfall Edited April 16, 2011 by hurrycaine3000
